Guide to Raw Feeding
Mariah Schafsnitz
Ratios



80% meat – legs,
hearts, wings,
gizzards, etc.
10% organ – liver,
kidney, etc.
10% bone – chicken
bone, turkey bone, any
raw bone.
Feeding
When you first start, feed each
meat week by week. Example:
Week 1 – chicken only.
Week 2 – turkey only.
Week 3 – beef only.
You can feed as many times as
you want per day, but
generally..
Puppies: 3-4 times per day
Adults: 1-2 times per day
Smaller breeds should be fed
more often than larger
breeds.
Dangers
Raw feeding has certain dangers – but so
does kibble. Many dogs choke to death
each year on random things – kibble, tennis
balls, dog treats. The chance that a dog
will choke on a raw bone is very small.
Bacteria isn’t a problem for dogs. They have
the enzymes to handle it – besides, do you
think they would cook their food in the
wild? No. They eat it raw.
