Cancer Care Engineering
Oncological Sciences Center, e-Enterprise Center, Bindley Bioscience Center,
Cyber Center, Regenstrief Center for Healthcare Engineering, Purdue Cancer
Center, IU Cancer Center, Clinical Oncologists
Goals
Significantly improve cancer treatment by taking a systems approach to
research and treatment
Expected Outcomes
1. Cancer Care Situation Room –
Combining research, clinical, published sources with visualization and
analysis – present accumulated knowledge and best practices to clinicians
AND target research on key questions that challenge clinicians and patients
2. Bench to Bedside and Back –
Complete the cycle of research discoveries to treating patients and back to
inform research direction

Engineering, Center for the Environment, Sandia
Labs, Energy Industry Partners
Goals
-Significantly improve decision-making by considering energy as a
complex, interconnected system
Expected Outcomes
1.
Models, analyses and simulations of the total energy system
including chemical, infrastructural, economic, environmental, and
policy aspects
2. Well-coordinated, better informed, and more effective energy
decisions and policies at the corporate, nation and global levels
