Web site development:
We have plans to make significant improvements to our web site. Specifically, we plan
to have more content about counseling issues that relate to current events and
circumstances. In addition, we will include more specific and timely information about
current services, and a FAQ page. The changes will be accomplished primarily by CCSD
staff, although technical assistance from IT may also be needed.
Upgrades to desktop computers:
We have been able to maintain a system of upgrading desktop computers every three to
four years. We anticipate replacing approximately 16 desktops at the end of 2003-2004.
Managing information:
We are continuing to use Protégé, the electronic record-keeping and scheduler that we
use for all clinical work. At the same time, we are working with IT to see if there is
another program available that might better meet our needs. If (as is hoped) a program is
selected during the coming academic year, we will need to make the appropriate
hardware and software upgrades to run the program. This will likely include upgrading
our current server. Most support needed in the transition will be provided by the vendor,
but some consultation with IT will likely be required as well.
