The Process of Using a “Browser” You type the URL of a requested Web page such as www.yahoo.com. A message is sent to a Domain Name Server (DNS) which returns the “IP” address (e.g., 68.142.226.34). The browser then communicates directly with that address requesting a response. The requested response comes back in the form of an HTTP page which is displayed by the browser. What’s in a Web Address?
