run by the profession
• Collaborate with system in other countries
– Australia/New Zeeland and Switzerland
• Run by an AIRS committee chaired by Dr.
Patrick Guffey at Children's Colorado

the AIRS Committee
o The case appears monthly in the ASA

o Past cases are also available on the AIRS page
of the AQI web site

Use for local incident reporting
• Several institutions are using AIRS for their
local reporting
• Two Options
– Report to the national AIRS system. Local
institution will get access to their reports
– Install AIRS locally. AQI will be source code
and assistance to local IT. Send reports to AQI
monthly.

AIRS Data for Education
• AIRS committee is looking at a couple of
opportunities to leverage the case reports
into educational offerings.
– Patient Safety
– Screen-based Simulation
– CME credit for reporting
• These are being investigated

• AIRS data is protected under PSO
• 85% of cases are reported confidentially
– The reporting provides their email address
• Available for mobile and local use
• Data is being put to good use
• Come by and try the system by reporting a
test case
