• Neo-classical approach:

• Gross Domestic Income (GDI) or Gross
Domestic Product (GDP)
– Defined as the market value of all final goods and
services produced within a country in a given period
of time
– Calculated as consumption + government spending +
gross investment + (imports - exports)
