Knowledge becomes the basis for effective action. The knowledge economy, heavily relies on knowledge to drive productivity and economic growth. To maximise on available knowledge then Knowledge Management is necessary. 9 Knowledge Management is… ….all about collaborating (sharing, learning, producing, innovation) with others for better results. Failure to share knowledge-empire building and silo mentality 26 Suggested Solutions (1) Map all Knowledge Management initiatives & seek synergies – ESCs can spearhead Guarantee sustained investment for longterm benefits of efficiencies, savings, knowledge, and wealth creation. Inter-ministerial & PPP collaboration key Awareness campaigns to get buy-in by all players esp. citizens for a knowledge-friendly culture 27 Suggested Solutions (2) Investment incentives & other marketing strategies Demonstrate link between Knowledge Management and economic performance or value addition Top level support to KM initiatives Develop standards, clear purpose and language National Values System to curb cyber crime 28 Suggested Solutions (3) County govts to individually & jointly leverage on knowledge for economic and social devt use their social-cultural and environmental richness gainfully Encourage & reward innovations – Kenya ranked 6th globally in research & Innovation Enablers: Kenya to become regional financial/services hub due to fibre optic connection-boost innovation, film industry, 29 e-health, etc END Asante sana!
