Transcript
Coneflower Echinacea sp.
This perennial can be found in prairies,
glades, woods, and thickets, and is often
cultivated as well. Its leaves are stiff and
lance-shaped to oval. Its flowers contain
a cone-shaped center with rays
spreading from it. The rays are often
purple or white. Many Native American
tribes used the coneflower. It was used
to treat snake and spider bites, cancers,
toothaches, burns, sores, wounds, colds,
and the flu. Now the coneflower is used
as an immune system stimulant.
