When the Volcano Exploded
The volcano exploded
Sparks burst out of its crater
It almost burnt everything around
Almost
Why am I saying it
Everything around did
burn indeed
Those trees that have always gulped water
from the soil of this volcano got burnt
Burnt down.. with all what it carried of
yellow leaves and rotten fruit
But
Its roots survived
To recognize that its bad fruit is product of
the source of its water
Hence it stretched to fetch pure water
In order to freely sip at it
Green leaves.. that won’t easily fall off
Fine fruits.. radiating with health and freshness
Roses.. spreading its scent everywhere
Those have been the roots
And produce
A Muslim heart
Although he has disobeyed God Almighty
Committed sins, and fell behind his duties
His heart is jealous of its religion, and
carries deep affection to it
For this heart has found its comfort in
Islam, and thus won’t accept any
alternatives
But
There exists of self desires, life seductions and temptations
With which this world is loaded
Hence by turning away from good deeds
A person finds himself stained with filth of sin
Thick dust of sin covers the heart
So he runs here and there seeking life glamour
Through all of this
Adversity may meet him
And dust the heart down
Waking him up from his long sleep
To look for the real pleasure of the heart
The Quraan.. and the guidance of the Prophet – peace
be upon him
God Almighty says
In the remembrance of
Allah do hearts find rest
He who drinks them in
And accepts no alternatives
His life is faith and
happiness
His face is radiant
His destiny is paradise
This is the guidance of the prophet- peace be upon him
Why not
The master of all people
The best of human beings
Who has been sent as a mercy to mankind
He has the best of manners and moral attributes
Preserved from doing wrong
Benevolent to his people
Merciful and kind to them
God Almighty describes him saying
Verily, there has come unto you a Messenger from
amongst yourselves. It grieves him that you should
receive any injury or difficulty. He is anxious over you
(to be rightly guided, to repent to Allah, and beg Him
to pardon and forgive your sins, in order that you
may enter Paradise and be saved from the
punishment of the Hell-fire), for the believers full of
pity, kind, and merciful.
He has been sent with a religion suitable for every time and place
a religion that enlightens the heart and preserves it from sorrow
This is Muhammad- peace be upon him
and, as the meaning of his name suggests, he has every blessed
attribute indeed
The honest and trust-worthy
That is how his people described him before he became messenger
honest in his words and actions
People trusted him with their possessions, thus he was called trustworthy
He has been kept clean of vice
He had never drunk spiritual drinks
He had never prostrated to, or celebrated an idol
He was a wise man whose consult had been sought
He was a just man
All of this before he became messenger of God
Then when he carried the message
Faith topped up his virtuous qualities with a great religion
That teaches moral values
He carried the burden of calling to the religion of God
He tolerated sarcasm and abuse
In words and actions
He did not slow down or retreat
But rather endured and tolerated
God strengthened his heart, and his faith grew deeper
God Almighty says
Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and those who are
with him are severe against disbelievers, and merciful
among themselves. You see them bowing and falling
down prostrate (in prayer), seeking Bounty from Allah
and (His) Good Pleasure. The mark of them (i.e. of their
Faith) is on their faces (foreheads) from the traces of
(their) prostration (during prayers). This is their
description in the Taurat (Torah). But their description in
the Injeel (Gospel) is like a seed which sends forth its
shoot, then makes it strong, it then becomes thick, and it
stands straight on its stem, delighting the sowers that He
may enrage the disbelievers with them. Allah has
promised those among them who believe (i.e. all those
who follow Islamic Monotheism, the religion of Prophet
Muhammad till the Day of Resurrection) and do righteous
good deeds, forgiveness and a mighty reward) Al-fath 29
Here is a description of Muhammad –
peace be upon him, and of his
companions
Mighty and firm against the disbelievers
Merciful and loving among each other
The messenger of God; all of his sins forgiven
His companions; among them those ten
promised with paradise
The Prophet – peace be upon him, has ordered us
not to insult his companions, for even if we
spend as much as the mountain of Uhod gold, we
would not get to reach what they have reached
In spite of all that, they prayed till prostration
marked their faces
They are a Prophet and his companions
Men who followed the guidance of the messenger of God in all
matters
God honored them with a great victory in their first incursion
They were a minority in number and supply
Many of the greatest disbelievers were killed
That is because of their strong faith and devotion to God
And being sincere followers to the messenger of God
They fought for the cause of God, so He rewarded them with
victory
They stood firmly round the messenger of God
Never disobeying his orders
Never disregarding his opinions
They loved him more than
Their children
Their money
Even their own selves
And they were right
For he has been a man of great morality
God Almighty says
And verily, you (O Muhammad)
are on an exalted standard of
character
It was not him who had acquired those attributes
but rather those attributes had been characterized by
him
Honesty.. tolerance.. mercy.. courage.. fairness..
shyness… it is him – peace be upon him
If we keep on writing and writing
We will fall short of ink
That may mark letters or words
About the chosen prophet
Peace be upon him
After all of this
Don’t the roots have right to look for a source for its
nutrition
to gulp in the greatest of biographies
and be guided with the purest of mankind
In order to produce
Green leaves that have extracted its fresh green out of worship
and those fine fruits collected fresh and ripe
Full of advice and defense of justice
Full of clear evidence
and sound sermons
Flowers scented with the kindness of smiling faces
Fill the place with its aroma
That dormant volcano
Has been full of spite and malice to those trees
That have been inattentive to this animosity
They started to drink from the soil of that volcano, assuming it
was among the convoy of civilization
and did not suspect one day that it actually carried hatred and
hostility within
Until the volcano exploded
Discharging drawings announcing that hidden animosity
So the trees turned away from the volcano and its soil
to a pure spring
That shall strengthen them and renew their will-power
In order to rise with the nation
And raise the name of its prophet
Peace be upon him
To become dignified, honored and proud
Strong and firm
Upon holding on tightly to its religion
And never letting it down for any reason
We ask God to forgive us
to dignify Islam and Muslims
to strengthen them
and help them against their enemy
and to strengthen the bond of loyalty for the cause of Allah
All the praises and thanks be to Allah
