What causes winds?
Wind is the movement of air from
high to low pressure
 Winds are caused by differences in
air pressure.

Differences in air pressure are caused
by unequal heating of the atmosphere.
 Cool air has higher pressure
 Warm air has low pressure


Most importantly, wind travels from areas of
high pressure to areas of low pressure!
