A Place For Your Query Needs
What is Qstore?

A revolutionary application to replace
the FoxPro logic check component of
the Lung Study database.
And more. . .
Qstore Features

Standalone application.

Engine written in C# and VB.NET

It’s a “superstore” that manages little
XML “stores” stocked with SQL ad hoc
queries.

Extremely easy to use.
What is XML?

XML stands for “eXtensible Markup
Language”

XML files are text-based, independent
of propriety formats, and can “talk” to
different programs/languages.

XML files are de facto data carrier
across the web.
Before Qstore

Logic check queries were hard-coded
into programs thus they were difficult to
maintain (i.e. add, delete, modify, etc.)
After Qstore

QStore manages queries stores saved in
the lightweight XML format.

Qstore runs these ad hoc queries against
any database of choice.
User Guide

Brief glance also acts as a quick user
guide.

Qstore is so easy to use, it masks all its
high-tech construction.
Fig. 1 – Click the button to open a store.
Fig. 2 – The store is a XML document.
Fig. 3 – Existing SQL queries are pulled up for editing.
Fig. 4 – Click the button “Get Database” to connect.
Fig. 5 – Select a MS Access database of choice.
Fig. 6 – Once connected, a list of tables will be displayed to confirm.
Fig. 7 – Click the button to run the current displayed query.
Fig. 8 – Query results could be previewed for printing.
Fig. 9 –
Print
preview.
Fig. 10 – Click on the button to save changes to queries. Click “Save As”
to save the XML store to a different name thus duplicating it.
Fig. 11 – Button “Execute Query” allows the user to be interactive with
a query while the button “Run Store” powerfully runs the whole batch of
queries without any interaction. Make sure existing queries are correct
syntactically before clicking this button.
Qstore Requirements

Runs on Windows.

.NET Framework (readily available for
download from MS) pre-installed.

To add/edit SQL queries, users needed to be
versed in SQL.

Just to run existing queries, no SQL skill is
needed.
Immediate Uses

We are testing Qstore on the current Lung
dataset for feedbacks and fine-tuning.

The Lung Teleform dataset is to be tested on
next.
Future Releases of QStore

Include more store organization.

Little routines to connect to SQL Server,
Oracle databases.
