going offshore … Outsourced to
India, China, Philippines, etc.

FACT:
 Forrester Research, Inc. estimates that only 4% of all
Information Technology (IT) jobs were outsourced in 2004.
This will grow to only 9% by 2010.
 The jobs that are being outsourced typically involve low
level skills (data entry, data analysis) or repetitive tasks
(writing yet another hospital records system).
 Purdue University Computer Science graduates do
neither low level nor repetitive tasks. They design
innovative systems, create operating system security
mechanisms, design new programming environments,
create new wireless protocols, etc.
