Description
Features
MCL Tool 5.1 is a complete tool used to create
flat, LonWorks networks of controllers.
Standard LONWORKS® functionality of
configuring nodes and binding of network
variables are included in this single package.
MCL Tool 5.1 is based on Echelon’s
LONWORKS® Network Services (LNS) for
complete compatibility to existing LonWorks
networks and Echelon products (LonMaker for
Windows).
• Physical Tree displays system architecture
at a glance
MCL Tool can be used in conjunction with
MCL or previous revisions of NexSys
Workstation, for compatibility with
M3 Workstation.
M3/MCL/MCL Tools are the primary user
components for creating LonWorks networks
for small buildings.
Positioned with Echelon’s LNS, most
LonWorks-based devices and all LonMark
certified devices are compatible with and can
be used for design in this system.

• system monitoring windows for easy
access to information on alarm activity,
alarm history, and node history
• point commanding anywhere a point is
displayed - the Alarm History Window, the
Active Alarm Window, a Node Status
Window, a Graphic Window, or a CPL
Monitoring Window
• multi-language support
• Database Print provides site
documentation and the ability to view or
print the LNS 3.x database
• Control Programming Language (CPL), a
flexible, graphical process control
language, uses predefined control blocks
to make quick work of complicated building
programs
• Print CPL page to DXF™ (Drawing
Interchange File) format provides files that
can be viewed/printed in Visio®,
AutoCAD®, Volo™View, and other
programs supporting DXF files
• Configuration Data Set (CDS) files, which
contain all of the configuration parameters
for a device, can be exported to similar type
devices. The ability to exchange CDS
information between databases/jobs
greatly increases the productivity of the
technician
