Battle of Resistance
Mark Dunbar, OD
Antibiotic resistance is considered to be one of the world’s most
pressing public health problems today. Ever since the age of
antibiotic therapy began over 50 years ago, physicians have
managed to stay at least one step ahead of the bacteria but the
battle wages on as bacterial pathogens come up with new ways of
evading even our strongest antibiotics by developing resistance.
This course will discuss this growing health problem as well as the
impact on managing and treating ocular infections. Topics
discussed include the growing concern of MRSA and the latest in
antibiotic therapy.
