Settling initially in the then-Indian territory of Kansas, over the years the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth established schools, orphanages and hospitals throughout the western territories as the populations and needs of these communities grew. SCL Health System proudly carries on this pioneering spirit, as well as a sense of profound responsibility to sustain the mission our Foundress Mother Xavier Ross initiated so many years ago. Today, we are a not-for-profit, faith-based health system with 16 locations and more than 15,000 associates. SCL Health System remains dedicated to all we serve and humbled to be a trusted health partner in a dynamic and changing industry.
