Save time and money on your college degree!
Tulsa Tech students may earn college credit through a process known as Prior Learning Assessment (PLA). As
defined by the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning, PLA is the evaluation and assessment of an individual’s
life learning for college credit, certification, or advanced standing toward further education or training.
Depending on the college and degree pursued, students may earn credit by
showing an earned certification or license, taking an institutional assessment at
the college, showing a portfolio, or demonstrating your knowledge.
The College Relations office at Tulsa Tech will help you understand how this
process works. Contact the College Relations office for more information so you
can ask for PLA and earn college credit for what you already know!

To apply for a full time program, complete the following steps. Applicants applying by February 3, 2017, for the 2017-18
school year will be notified by March 3, 2017. Applications will continue to be accepted throughout the year.
ADM IS S ION S C H E C K L I S T
Step 1: Complete Online Application at tulsatech.edu/apply
Step 2: Answer the Admission Interest Questions online (50 points possible)
Responses to the Admission Interest Questions will be used to rate the level of interest in the
program for which you are applying.
Step 3: Complete a Program Visit (20 points)
Prospective students should visit all programs they are interested in at a campus where the
program is offered. Program visits are held on Thursdays at 7:30am or from 3:00-4:00pm
and may be scheduled online. Program Visit points may also be earned by attending the
Tulsa Tech Open House on Thursday, January 19, 2017.
Note: Applicants for a one hour elective class at their high school do not need to complete a
program visit.
Step 4: Submit and verify documentation of Academic Preparedness (30 points possible)
High School Applicants: Reading and Math scores will be accepted from the PLAN, Explore,
10th Grade ACT Aspire, Pre-ACT Test, ACT, PSAT, or SAT. The Tulsa Tech Career Advisor for
your high school will submit your standardized test scores for your application. Students with
no reading or math test scores have the option of testing at the Tulsa Tech Assessment Center.
Adult Applicants: Must take a reading and math test at Tulsa Tech unless you have ACT or
SAT scores from the last five years or an Associate’s Degree or higher.
Note: The Practical Nursing Program has different testing requirements.

The Tulsa Tech Assessment Office is located in the Career Service Center at the Lemley Memorial Campus at
3420 S. Memorial Drive. Assessment and Office Hours are as follows:
Assessment Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday: 8:00 am - 1:30 pm
Thursday: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Office Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday: 7:30 am - 4:30 pm

S E L E C T ION P R O C E S S
» Admission to Tulsa Tech is based on a point system with a total of 100 points possible. Applicants may earn
up to 30 points for academic preparedness (a minimum of 10 academic preparedness points is required), up
to 50 points for completing the admission interest questions and 20 points for attending a program visit (a
minimum of 40 combined points for the interest questions and program visit is required).
» Applicants are admitted beginning with the highest admission scores and continuing until all available seats
in the program are filled. Applicants meeting the minimum score for admission but not accepted into a
program due to capacity will be placed on a wait list. If an applicant feels that they have been improperly
denied admission, a request for alternative admission may be submitted to the Admissions Office.
» Additional points may be awarded for veteran status, for consecutive waitlisted applications for the same
program, and for current CNA certification (for the Practical Nursing program only). Priority is given to
applicants with a complete admission file as of each round of selection.
