Technical Director Richmond FC (formerly Richmond Youth Soccer Association, RYSA) has an immediate vacancy for the full time position of Technical Director within the Soccer Club. The successful candidate will have a National B Licence or equivalent and must be qualified to deliver BC Soccer coaching certification courses for LTPD Stages 1 – 3. In addition strong administrative and interpersonal skills along with good writing and oral presentation skills are necessary. A proven track record in the development of grass root and competitive soccer programs is required. Hours of work is 40 hours per week but is not determined by a standard workweek or workday arrangement. The position responsibilities and duties will require flexible workweek or workday arrangements to achieve the desired goals and objectives of the position. Interested candidate should forward their resume, salary expectations and references to: [email protected] Position Description Technical Director Richmond FC Responsible to: The Technical Director reports directly to the Chair of Richmond FC (formerly the Richmond Youth Soccer Association, RYSA) and in his/her absence their designate(s) and is accountable to the Board of Directors of the Richmond FC. Responsible for: Responsible for the day to day activities of the Richmond FC coach development curriculum, the player development training programs and associated delivery and administrative functions of those programs. Particular focus will be the development of the Long Term Player Development Program (LTPD) stages 1 - 3 Team Based, Fall/Winter LTPD Stage 1, Active Start (U4-U6) LTPD Stage 2, FUNdamentals (U6-U9) LTPD stage 3, Learning to train (U9-U12) Curriculum Guidance and Future Curriculum Development for the age groups: U13-U18 Non-Selects (house and Bronze) program U13-U18 Select (Gold and Silver) program U13-U18 Metro program Team Based, Spring/Summer Program Rationale Content (including tournament selection and street soccer) Administration Non-Team Based Fall/Winter Academy o Outfield players (U8-U11) o Goalkeeper (proto, intermediate, senior/advanced) Spring/Summer academy o Development of a sustainable academy that meshes with Richmond FC development goals and current summer academy providers (e.g. Mike Quinn Soccer School) Program Delivery Direct delivery (in which the Technical director is the coach – including Master Coach) Technical director is required to: Fully attend at LTPD stages 1-3 (U5 to U10) sessions and related Saturday morning programming Provide part-time team coaching at transitional levels (U11-U13) Provide some team based spring/summer program coaching Provide some fall/winter academy coaching Provide most spring/summer academy coaching Balance of the coaching provided by “professional” coaches and volunteers Strategic Priorities Growth and strengthening of membership, by ensuring the organization is responsive to community requirements and professional in its delivery of programs Consistently exemplify the governing, principles of professional leadership, passionate service and progressive collaboration on behalf of Richmond FC, demonstrating integrity and ethical standards Coach Development Program Formal Coaching Development Arranging and regularising BC Soccer coaching certification courses Delivery of most BC Soccer coaching certification courses Informal Coaching Development Regularly provide coaching information to coaches Arrange periodic coaches meeting on specific topics (emphasis on LTPD Stages 1-3) Early identification and grooming of key prospective volunteer coaches Assessments Prepare annual “try-out” calendar Working with Richmond FC Administrator, principally responsible for: o On-going assessment identifying younger players (particularly U7-U9) who might be ready for a different level and/or participate in academy program o On-going assessments and “try-outs” assessments for transitional levels U11 “Selects”, U12 Gold and Silver, U13 Metro, Gold and Silver Working with the Richmond FC Administrator, age group coordinators and applicable Richmond FC professional coaches, the coordination and delivery of the balance of the Richmond FC selected team selection Administration Together with applicable age group coordinator, addressing training and development related issues as they may arise Annual preparation of the training and development program for Training and Development Committee approval Annual preparation of the Training and Development Financial Budget for board approval Annually at the end of each season, prepare a training and development report Monitoring budget, reviewing and recommending approval of professional coaching invoices Attending Training and Development Committee meetings and periodic board meetings Interface with other organizations: Richmond Girls Soccer Association (RGSA)- for program coordination of common programming (e.g. Sunday morning skills, goalkeeper sessions) and possible use of common coaching resources Richmond Olympic Oval -for specialized fitness/physical literacy programming Fusion FC -for program coordination and player/parent information (particularly at intake U12U13 year) and possible use of common coaching resources. This function is coordinated with Richmond FC member of Fusion FC Board BC Soccer -for coaching certification courses, LTPD direction and implementation and Best Practices and attending technical meetings as required Universities and Colleges, the ``Graduates`` and other senior organization/teams to provide information on opportunities for graduating players
