composition at McGill University (Montreal).
• Commissioned by CBC Radio to compose a suite of music for “Celebrating Jelly Roll Morton” event (2010).
• Featured guest on CBC radio's “Hot Air” program to discuss New Orleans brass band music (2010).
• National Jazz Awards “best jazz clarinetist” nominee (2008 & 2009).
• Worked for Troika Entertainment's "A Chorus Line" in Vancouver (2009).
• Worked for Troika Entertainment's Asian tour of "42nd Street" (2008).
• Performances in the Vancouver Jazz Festivals (2000 - 2011).
• Featured soloist with the Shanghai All-star big band, 2007 performance in the Nanjing Jazz Festival.
• Featured soloist in the 2007 Shanghai Zhu Jia Jiao Village World Music Festival in Zhu Jia Zhao, China
with the Aseana Persussion Unit from Malaysia.
• 2006 recipient of the Canada Council Grant to Professional Musicians to compose music in Shanghai for
one year.
• Performed in the Macallan JZ Jazz Festival in Shanghai, China (Oct., 2005).
• Featured on CBC Radio’s “Jazz Beat” program (Jan., 2000) and CBC Radio’s “Silence…On Jazz!” program
(Aug., 2000).
• Selected to perform at the 1998 IAJE (International Association of Jazz Educators) annual conference in
New York City.
• Received Best Composer award at the 1998 Aquinas Festival of Jazz in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
• Received Outstanding Soloist awards at the Notre Dame Collegiate Jazz Festival in ‘97, ‘98, and ‘99.
