Simply put, the human auditory system is capable of performing operations a hearing instrument
cannot. By mimicking the way sound is normally delivered to the brain, CrossLink Directionality
allows the patient to take advantage of the fact that the brain is still capable of accepting,
analyzing and organizing sound even though hearing is impaired. This organization of sound is
important because it helps the brain make a decision to either suppress the sound or attend to
it depending on the relative level of importance of that sound in a given situation. For example,
the brain is trained to recognize a siren as an important signal, so even when a siren is off in the
distance, a person knows to start paying attention immediately.

Each Beltone Promise hearing instrument with CrossLink Directionality has environmental detectors that constantly monitor the environment and classify signal
type, signal-to-noise ratio and the location of sound sources. The 2.4 GHz wireless system synchronizes information between the two hearing instruments and
automatically assigns each hearing aid the optimal microphone mode, omnidirectional, directional or asymmetrical, based on environmental cues.
As the chart below illustrates, there are four directional microphone mode configurations based on the presence or absence of speech, the location of speech
as well as overall noise levels.
When speech is detected, the best signal-to-noise ratio is provided via the directional microphone. In the majority of environments, CrossLink Directionality will
provide the hearing aid wearer with environmental awareness via the omnidirectional microphone. In addition to giving your clients the ability to stay connected

Wind noise is a common concern for hearing aid wearers when they are
in outdoor environments. In order to detect and prevent wind noise from
being amplified in a hearing instrument, Beltone Promise offers a Wind Noise
Reduction feature that provides a more comfortable listening experience and
better sound quality in windy conditions.
AFX Music Mode
There are times when traditional feedback management systems can allow
feedback-induced artifacts to interfere with music. Beltone’s new AFX Music
Mode is an alternate feedback cancellation option that reduces these artifacts
when listening to music but still allows all of the notes to come through. This

place the Beltone AirlinkTM in a USB port and begin. There is no need for cords or large
programming devices around your clients’ necks.
Improvements have been made to the Text Based Wizard so that it now filters rules
based on form factors and technology levels. This will make answers easier to find
and more specific to the issue, ultimately saving you time.
Best of all, with Beltone’s wireless Airlink, patients who have wireless-enabled hearing
aids can be fit without the use of cords or neckloops. The Airlink transmits fitting

With the microphone in the concha—rather than on top of the ear—
Beltone Promise takes advantage of the ear’s anatomy. The ear’s natural
ability to amplify and give directional cues improves your clients’ ability to
localize sounds.
The miniBTE offers your clients an easy-to-conceal hearing instrument with all of the
excellent features available in our other BTEs. The Flex BTE is the only one that can
be configured four ways, including a high gain option with a metal hook, so it can be
adjusted as hearing loss progresses.
Beltone Promise receiver-in-the-ear instruments are available in three options. Choose the smallest 62D or a 63DW that
has wireless capabilities. For those who want a wireless RIE with a volume control, the 64DW is the perfect choice.
