Local Orthodontists are Providers of Invisalign
When it comes to orthodontics,
not all areas of practice and specialization are alike. When it comes
to Invisalign, no two orthodontists
or dentists are alike. Fortunately,
there are four orthodontic practices here in Northeast Ohio that
are among the best in the nation
when it comes to Invisalign.
experience as much discomfort as
you would with traditional orthodontic appliances.
So, who are the orthodontic
practices that are among the best
in the nation with Invisalign? They
include Dr. John White, who has
offices in Northfield Center and
Hudson; Dr. Belli in Kent; Dr Kossoff
right orthodontist is extremely
important, said Dr. White.
“A lot of orthodontists and
general dentists may be certified in
Invisalign, but they may not have
the experience to know what it
can do or how to achieve optimum
results,” said Dr. White.“If you buy
a major league baseball bat, that
doesn’t mean you can
go down to Progressive Park and hit major league pitching.”
“When you use
traditional braces, it’s
like grabbing an object with two hands.
But with Invisalign,
it’s more like you’re
just pushing with the
palms of your hands.
You have to be able
to see its impact and
think in three-dimensions.”
John White DDS, MSD
What is Invisalign? Invisalign is
not so much a procedure as it is an
area of practice in orthodontics.
It works in a similar way to braces,
but is much more subtle, both in its
appearance and in the way it feels
inside the mouth. But in the hands
of the right doctor, the results can
be absolutely spectacular.
Using a series of plastic aligners,
an orthodontist or dentist certified
in Invisalign can transform your
smile, moving the position of your
teeth gradually to achieve the
desired outcome. Each of these
aligners is individually manufactured to exact specifications; they
are custom-made for your teeth
according to a plan devised by
your doctor.
The best part is that no one
knows you’re having the procedure
done, unless you want them to. The
aligners are, as the name implies,
virtually invisible.You can remove
the aligners to eat, drink, floss, or
for special occasions. And because
the aligners are plastic, you won’t
Thomas DiMas sa DDS, MS
in Chagrin and Mentor; and Dr.
Thomas DiMassa, of Westlake and
Lakewood. Orthodontists who are
Premier Providers of Invisalign
are in the top five percent of all
dentists in this state-of-the-art area
of practice.
Dr. John White is considered a
Premier Provider Elite, placing him
among the top one percent in the
world in terms of the procedure.
“Essentially, what that means is
that we have received not only the
necessary training to become certified but have performed a certain
number of Invisalign procedures
with a certain degree of difficulty
in order to become what is known
as a Premier Provider,” said Dr.
White.
“Within one hundred miles of
Cleveland, there are only four Premier Providers. In terms of Premier
Providers Elite, I am the only one in
this half of the state,” said White.
When it comes to having experience with Invisalign, choosing the
That’s one of the
reasons Dr. White has
invested in dental
CAT scans in both of
his offices.
“Using a minimal amount of
radiation, I can see a three-dimensional view of everything from the
jaw joints to the roots of individual
teeth from every direction,” said Dr.
White.“When it comes to imaging,
the dental CAT scan is far superior
to anything on the market. It’s very
beneficial in terms of treatment
planning and quality of outcomes.”
Dr. Thomas DiMassa, who has
offices in both Westlake and
Lakewood, has yet to achieve
Premier Provider status. But that’s
only because he didn’t jump on the
Invisalign bandwagon as early as
the others. He is, however, seeing
more and more patients awho
want Invisalign every day.
“Invisalign gives us a way to
treat people who don’t want
conventional braces and who don’t
want anything to show,” said Dr.
DiMassa. “In addition to adults,
it can also be used for teens who
may be self conscious about their
appearance.”
Dr. DiMassa, as well as Dr. White,
is one of the few Board Certified
orthodontists in our area. He is also
recognized as a diplomat of the
American Board of Orthodontics,
the highest level of attainment in
the specialty of Orthodontics.
“Board certification includes
a rigorous exam that includes a
written exam, as well as an evaluation of 10 cases,” said Dr.
DiMassa.
While both Drs. White and
DiMassa are among the best in
the nation when it comes to using
Invisalign to transform your smile,
it’s not just about aesthetics. Many
people today are just as concerned
with the proper function of their
teeth, which is key to a healthier
lifestyle.
In his 26 years in
practice, DiMassa
has treated more
than 17,000 patients,
making his one of the
largest practices in
the nation.
In addition to Invisalign, he also specializes in braces and TMJ
treatments for children
and adults. That’s still a
big vote of confidence
from the west-side communities of both Westlake
and Lakewood where Dr.
DiMassa has his offices.
By seeing an Invisalign Premier
Provider, you’re seeing a dentist or
orthodontist who has the experience to know what Invisalign really
can and can’t do. They also have
the experience with Invisalign to
make it work in the most difficult
of circumstances. And because the
treatment plan is developed in
virtual reality, your doctor can literally show you how your teeth will
be moved over the
course of time.

Aligners are individually manufac tur ed to exact specific ations .
It also helps that like Dr. White,
Dr. DiMassa’s new state-of-the-art
offices in both Westlake and Lakewood are not only comfortable but
luxurious.
“People like our offices because
they can easily relax,” said Dr.
DiMassa.“But what really sets us
apart is our Braces by DiMassa
team. They know how to deliver
world-class orthodontics, creating
beautiful smiles and providing
comfort that people want when
seeing an orthodontist. Our commitment to their patients is to
exceed all expectations.”
Invisalign can be use to correct
a wide range of imperfections,
including overly crowded teeth;
widely-spaced teeth; crossbites,
which happens when the upper
and lower jaws are misaligned;
overbites; and underbites.
Treatment starts with an initial
consultation, hopefully with an
Invisalign Premier Provider. During
that visit, the orthodontist will
discuss the issues you have with
your teeth and the results you
would like to see. Once your doctor
decides Invisalign is right for you, a
treatment plan is mapped out.
And since you can remove your
aligners, you’ll actually be able to
see the progress in the mirror right
before your eyes.
So if you are thinking of doing
something to correct that crooked
smile, whether you’re eight or 80,
Drs. White and DiMassa can help.
They are among the best in the nation. And with new procedures like
Invisalign, no one needs to know
that you’re having anything done.
