Due to changed reagents for the determination of lipase, new
reference ranges exist. The new test detects the activity of
the pancreatic lipase, but do not reach the high sensitivity
and specificity of the PLI. With corresponding clinical
symptoms the result should be confirmed by a PLI test.

fT4 and cTSH or a function test is recommended to verify a

Cave: Greyhounds and well-trained dogs often show significantly

Interpretation
Remark glucose
The measurement of glucose from a serum sample may cause false low
values, if the time to centrifugation was longer than 30 minutes.
The whole blood sample should be completely coagulated before
centrifugation. Using NaFl blood, this problem does not exist.
