Raising the Curtain on our 60th Anniversary Season! As chair of Broadway in the Park this year, I have had the great privilege to work with so many talented and dedicated people, all of whom have contributed immeasurably to the success of this event. Each year for the past 14 years, Broadway in the Park has raised crucial unrestricted income to support the mission of Musical Theatre West, and in particular, our Education and Outreach programs. This event is the culmination of many months’ activity and countless hours of work by our committee members, staff members and volunteers. I want to especially thank the following people for their invaluable help and support: • My Broadway in the Park Committee: Pat DeRouen, Jan Foster, Marnos Lelesi, Judi Matsen, John Montgomery, Julie Knabe, Tom Gillespie and Gigi Fusco Meese, our staff coordinator; INTRODUCING THE BROADWAY IN THE PARK MYSTERY WINE WALL For the oenophiles among our guests, this mystery wine wall features bottles of wine valued between $25 and $125, with a median value of $53. When you purchase a $50 ticket, you will choose a number which corresponds to a wrapped bottle of wine on the wall. Some of the bottles included are: 2006 Schug Cabernet 2010 S. Finally, I want to thank you for your participation. Without your financial support, Broadway in the Park would not be a success. We hope you have a terrific time and encourage you to open your hearts (and wallets) for this great cause. This hands-on cooking experience with Chef Ryan will take place in his PRIVATE kitchen located at The Grand in Long Beach. Dinner would not be complete without dessert, so Pastry Chef Ismael Gonzalez will teach you how to make your own Beignets (Ben-yay’s) similar to what you would find in the French Quarter. Once the cooking is through, it’s time to dine. You will dine on the Cajun Crab boil you created right there in Chef’s commercial kitchen at The Grand. Paired with some great wine, this dinner will be a Crabfest that you will never forget!
