The Katonah Museum of Art presents Hammerstein’s Broadway Oscar Andrew Hammerstein III Meet the Stars Master of Ceremonies The grandson of Oscar Hammerstein II, Oscar “Andy” Hammerstein is a painter, writer, lecturer, and family historian. He has devoted much of his life to studying and preserving his family’s heritage and their contribution to American culture. He lectures frequently at universities, institutes, and theatrical and civic organizations on the Hammerstein family’s pivotal role in shaping the development of musical theatre and popular entertainment in this country. Alan Campbell Christine Andreas is a singer, actor and performer, and has received a number of Broadway awards, including a 1995 Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance as Joe Gillis in Sunset Boulevard opposite Glenn Close, Betty Buckley and Elaine Paige. He also received the Drama-Logue Award for his performance in Sunset Boulevard’s American Premiere in Los Angeles. starred as Eliza Doolittle in the 20th Anniversary production of My Fair Lady, garnering the Theatre World Award. Andreas received two Tony nominations re-creating Laurey in Oklahoma! working with Billy Hammerstein, and as Frankie Frayne in On Your Toes. Most recently, Andreas starred as Jacqueline in the Broadway production of La Cage Aux Folles with Kelsey Grammer. Lauren Kennedy Craig Schulman has appeared on Broadway as Lady of the Lake in Monty Python’s Spamalot, in Sunset Boulevard with Glenn Close, as Daisy Hilton in Side Show, and as Fantine in Les Misérables. Kennedy also starred in Cinderella at New York City Opera and in the Off-Broadway production of Vanities and Good Ol’ Girls. is the only actor in the world to have portrayed three of the greatest musical theatre roles: the Phantom in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera; Jean Valjean in Les Misérables; and the title roles in Jekyll & Hyde. He was invited to represent the U.S. at the 10th Anniversary of Les Misérables in London. Cris Groenendaal Sue Anderson (Musical Director) originated the role of Andre in the Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera, and went on to play the Phantom some 860 performances with three major companies. His other Broadway credits include Anthony Hope in SweeneyTodd, and the roles of George the Soldier and Louis the Baker in Sunday in the Park with George. has a career ranging from Broadway productions to films and recordings. As a conductor and musical director, Anderson has worked with the Broadway and national touring companies of Pirates of Penzance, Me and My Girl, and Cats. She played in the orchestra pits of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Woman in White, and Spamalot.
