Medical Spa is a unique practice that offers rejuvenating and revitalizing services that cater

surgical, and cosmetic skin care for all patients. At DeSpain Cayce Dermatology, the patient
is priority — and all of our care is based around scientific and ethical considerations.
Dermatologists:
Dr. Kimberly Cayce obtained her undergraduate
and medical degrees from the University of Missouri
– Kansas City and completed her dermatology
residency at East Carolina University Pitt County
Memorial Hospital.
Dr. John DeSpain and Dr. Kimberly Cayce are both
board-certified dermatologists and administer direct
care to all medical patients and cosmetic patients
whose procedures are more aggressive or more
invasive.
Dr. John DeSpain obtained his undergraduate and
medical degrees, and completed his dermatology
residency at The University of Missouri – Columbia.
The doctors meet every patient and review all
treatment plans, including those involving the
simplest treatments.
Patient Service Coordinators & Clinical Staff:
Our patient service team consists of skilled professionals who specialize in serving patients and their needs.
Our clinical staff consists of estheticians and nurses that are trained skin care professionals, and they both
support and administer treatment regimens under the supervision of the doctors. Our estheticians and nurses
have received advanced training for each piece of equipment they operate.

services administered by the physician and
esthetics team. The DeSpain Cayce team
offers customized treatment plans that are
tailored to each patient’s particular needs.
Listed within are specific treatments we offer
to match the needs of our patients:
“Lunch Treatments”
The following treatments can be done in 40 minutes or less:
Infusion Microdermabrasion - A treatment for superficial skin
conditions including fine lines, wrinkles, brown spots, aging and sun
damaged skin, acne blemishes and dry or oily skin.
We do a variety of peels including SkinCeuticals Micropeels and
Glytone Peels. Each peel treats specific skin issues and your treatment
will be customized to your skin type.
SkinCeuticals Pigment Balancing Masque & Take Home
Treatment - The masque is a quick and effective treatment for those
stubborn pigmentation issues.
Skin Tightening Treatments:
Forma - Uses radio-frequency technology to stimulate collagen and
improve the skin’s laxity.
Smooth Wrinkles:
Botox - A nonsurgical treatment that helps improve wrinkles and lasts up
to 4 months with no recovery time.
Laser Hair Removal:
Diolaze - This is an advanced nearly painless laser hair removal procedure that safely
and gently eliminates unwanted hair. This laser uses energy to selectively damage the
unwanted hair follicle. Multiple sessions are needed. All body areas can be treated.
Treatment For Wrinkles, Texture Issues & Acne Scarring:
Our treatment protocols are customized to the type of skin issues that are present, the
intensity of the problem, and the patient’s treatment goals.
Eclipse Micropen - The Micropen (also known as automated micro-needling) is the
latest technology in reducing fine lines and acne scars, and the procedure takes only
15-30 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated.
Glycolic acid peels and microdermabrasion - These are helpful after recent acne
outbreaks to optimize healing and may prevent scarring.
Laser Rejuvenation - Gentle gradual procedures using one of our non-ablative
lasers can result in gradual improvement in skin texture and scars.
Subscision - After thorough numbing of the skin, the physician can free up sunken
acne scars with a fine sterile needle; this procedure often results in the greatest
improvement for depressed ‘rolling’ scars, with rapid healing and improvement in the
appearance of the scars in a few weeks. Multiple sessions may be needed.
Cross Procedure – Treats pitted acne scars. A small amount of fluid acid is placed
into the scar. The acid works to increase collagen and the collagen will lift the scar to
the surface of the skin.
Fractora – Uses RF energy by introducing it into the dermis with sterile pins. This is
a solution to decrease wrinkles, improve skin complexion, reduce skin irregularities
and provide a healthier younger-looking you.
Red Spots, Tone & Texture:
Lumecca - The most powerful intense pulsed
light (IPL) to treat pigmented and vascular lesions.
After use, patients notice significant improvements
in the complexion and clarity of the skin. Lumecca
operates using photo-thermolysis, which provides
a photofacial through the delivery of a comfortable
light treatment.

Brown Spot & Sun Damage:
Laser Rejuvenation - Non-ablative skin rejuvenation- including wrinkle and acne
scar reduction- a gentler alternative to ablative laser treatments, with no downtime
and a low risk of complications for all skin types.

Facials:
60 minutes of skin rejuvenation and pampering. We tailor each facial to your
personal needs, ranging from treatments that focus on soothing irritated skin to ones
that focus on deep pore cleansing. Our facials are customizable for any skin type,
whether it be aging/dull skin, or oily/congested skin.
Vein Treatment:
Sclerotherapy - A solution is injected into the spider vein, causing damage to the vessel
and then the body slowly disintegrates it. The number of treatments depends on the
severity of the problem.
Laser Tattoo Removal:
This treatment offers a safe and effective way to remove a tattoo. Through a series of
short treatments with the Astanza Trinity laser spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, our medical
staff will fade your tattoo using the q-switched Nd:YAG and q-switched Ruby Laser.

Restore Lost Volume:
Fillers are FDA approved synthetic materials
that we use to treat loss of volume, skin
wrinkles, lines and unwanted folds in facial
skin. In our office, Dr. Cayce and Dr.
Despain use three types of fillers, and
customize every treatment to particular
patient wants and needs.

Body Sculpting:
CoolSculpting - CoolSculpting utilizes a
precisely controlled cooling method
called Cryolipolysis™ to target, freeze,
and permanently eliminate fat cells
without damage to other tissue.
BodyFX - BodyFX is a new, long lasting,
non-invasive device which uses RF heat
to eliminate fat cells leading to
improvements in your body contour. It
will reshape your body to provide a
non-surgical alternative to liposuction.

Our professional staff is dedicated to fulfilling all your
dermatological and medical spa wants and needs with tailored
services for every client. Our professional staff includes patient
service coordinators, medical assistants, nurses and estheticians,
all of which have received advanced training and certification in
the field of dermatology. These specialists work together to create
a plan that works with each individual patient. Our estheticians
and nurses are trained in cosmetic procedures for the skin and
work with our physicians during treatment. Our first priority is
listening to your needs, concerns and desired outcomes. In this
way, we create partnerships with our patients so that we can

Elly Valvo
Hanna Brethower
Elly joined the DeSpain Cayce Medical
Spa Team January of 2015. She grew up in
Atlanta, Georgia but recently moved to
Columbia, MO to be with family. She
obtained her Esthetics license from the
Paul Mitchell School of Columbia,
Missouri in August of 2014.
Hanna joined Despain Cayce Medical Spa
in September 2013. She is a licensed
Esthetician with 1500 CIDESCO training
hours. She also attended The National
Laser Institute to earn her laser and
Intense Pulse Light training certificate.
Hanna is trained in SkinCeuticals, Jane
Iredale mineral makeup, microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, chemical peels,
Eclipse MicroPen and CoolSculpting.
Elly is trained in Jane Iredale, SkinCeuticals, Eclipse Micropen, InMode Laser,
chemical peels and Coolsculpting. She has
had great success as an esthetician here at
DeSpain Cayce Dermatology and continues to develop her talents. She is passionate about skin care and looks forward to
partnering with patients to achieve the
highest level of skin care.
Prior to becoming an esthetician, Hanna
earned her B.S.B.A. in Marketing from the
University of Central Missouri. She loves
working with people, which compliments
her passion for helping patients reach their
skin care goals!
