Exploration geophysics
Terrana Geophysik is an enterprise, which is specialized in natural resource exploration (up to about100m depth) with
means of geophysics. The exploration is carried out from the surface without the need of drilling. Up to now, we have
worked on over 100 projects with success.
Different sediments and rocks have differrent physical properties like the electrical conductivity or travelling velocities of
seismic waves. By measuring these parameters from the surface, a distinction of different layers and different geological
material is possible.
sandy/silty areas
Extension zone of a gravel pit. Non-favourable areas (sandy and
silty material)show lower resistivity values (red to blue colors).

Thickness and volume of the reservoir and its overburden
can be determined at low costs, even covering a large area.
Furthermore, material quality statements, like weathering
state or sand and lime content, can be made for special
sediments or rocks like e.g. clay, gravel and gypsum
deposits.
