Examples of Infectious Disease and Parasites include: • Strangles • Ringworm • Warts • Respiratory Disease • High Fever No Visible External Parasite Burden (or related clinical signs) • Lice • Mange • Gastro-Intestinal (i.e., Evidence of diarrhea) Adequate Body Condition • Minimum BCS of 4/9 Henneke Scale: 1-2 : severe emaciation 3-4 : thin 5-6 :healthy 7-8 :overweight 9: severe obesity (For additional information on the Henneke scale go to www.kritters.net/hen.hen.html) • Feed and water should be available at the fair at all times Lameness/ Prescription Drug Use • Horses on any prescription meds, especially Bute, Banamine, Equioxx or Surpass SHOULD bring a letter of explanation from their veterinarian. • No horses with significant lameness, arthritis, or chronic laminitis will be admitted.
