ZONARE IS DIFFERENT!!!
Table of fundamental differences between conventional ultrasound systems and innovative ZONARE Technology
Conventional Ultrasound Systems
Acquisition and process of echo data line-by-line
Acquisition and process are based on hardware and so
limited by the time required for sound propagation in the
patient’s body
Zone Sonography™ technology
Acquires ultrasound data very quickly in a small number of
large zones
There are no limitations by Hardware
e.g. fast movement of the color “window” leaves traces when
repositioned quickly
Multiple modes function without degrading frame rate or Bmode quality.
The user must position the focus points manually. The
bigger the number of focus points the grater the degradation
of frame rate and B-mode image quality
Continuous transmit focusing. The field of view is
continuously focused and uniform. In zoom function the
image quality remains unchanged, even in the entire
19’’monitor.
AUTO TRACE. The trace of the Doppler waveform is based
on the echo data and is independent of the Doppler-gain.
Therefore measurements are more objective and reliable as
well as faster because the user doesn’t have to optimize the
Doppler-gain.
They trace the video signal displayed on the monitor. The
waveform must first be adjusted via Doppler gain.
Conventional systems reject 90% of echo data as noise
because of the method used to acquire the data.
Nothing is rejected as “noise”. The entire range of the
received echo data is used to form the image frames.
They use beamformers for the formation of image frames
with line by line acquisition. Limited by time end processing.
Echo data has to be discarded to allow the next line of data
to be processed. Echo data cannot be reprocessed once it is
discarded.
Conventional systems assume tha the propagation velocity
of sound is 1540 m/sec, at all times.
This fact can generate a Focal Failure.
The entire echo data acquired is stored in a Channel Domain
Memory. In this stage the data are not subjected to any
processing or filtration. The image frames are calculated
directly from the echo data. All is done Very fast.
Conventional systems once they reach the end user have
limited or none upgrade capabilities
Sound Speed Compensation. Correction of the clinical
image based on the real propagation velocity of sound. The
propagation velocity of sound is related to the subject it’s
propagating in. Different imaging subjects will have different
tissue densities and therefore different propagation velocities
Compensation ranges : 1.400m/sec to 1.700m/sec.
ZONE Sonography technology enables continuous evolution
of the systems purchased by end users, following the
advance of processors.. Moore’s Law states processing
power will double every 18 months. Upgrades can be made
easily via internet or USB stick
