We thank you for your comments on the Shawnee Parkway Study.
IDOT will be conducting an intensive environmental analysis in accordance with the National Environmental
Policy Act (NEPA). NEPA, it is a federal law that requires federally funded projects, such as the Shawnee
Parkway Study, to analyze alternatives (including a No-Build) and identify potential effects of those
alternatives on the environment. This study will consider the natural environment and the socioeconomic
impacts of a proposed improvement.
The goal of this study is to determine if there is a viable alternative that will benefit the people of the region
with the least amount of impact on the environment.
We appreciate your interest in this project and encourage you to stay involved.

As a former Southern Indiana resident, I urge you to cancel this project immediately. It will only benefit out-ofstate interests, and it will harm the local economy. This road is not necessary.
