Duckponds Discovery Morning Come along and experience the Duckpond Environmental Reserve with the Wildlife Preservation Society Explore this important wildlife refuge and learn about the values it hold with our friends from Birdlife Capricornia, Native Plants Capricornia and The Frog Society. Join us in celebrating the completion of a project funded by the Queensland Government’s Everyone’s Environment Grant to preserve and enhance this home for birds, frogs, turtles and other critters. Activities include: Early morning wetland and woodland bird watching with local experts Catch up over breakfast with a group of experienced and novice naturalists on a range of topics Presentations on the ecological values of our wetlands and riparian areas Where: Duckponds Environmental Reserve– Turn South off Gladstone Road (Bruce Highway) onto Port Curtis Road. At the intersection with Jellicoe Street veer slightly right and continue South, keeping Hastings Deering on your left. The Duckponds reserve is at the road’s end about 2km along. When: Saturday 17 September, 2016 7:30am Wear closed in shoes, hat, insect repellent. Bring Binoculars and bird, plant and frog field guides.
