 RELS 328.66: MIND, SELF AND SOCIETY -­‐ IN MONASTIC TIBETAN BUDDHISM Gampo Abbey, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia An “immersion” experience into Tibetan Buddhist Monasticism in the West • Three weeks of online/home study • One week on site living the monastic Buddhist life at Gampo Abbey, NS Instructor: Dr. Adéla Sandness ([email protected]) Instructor’s permission is required to register Three (3) credits; a non-­‐credit option is also available. Room & Board is in addition to tuition and textbooks. August 2 – 30, 2016 Three weeks (Aug 2-­‐22) – online component (Moodle/ Collaborate -­‐ students require a head set or microphone and speakers) August 23–30 – on-­‐site; Gampo Abbey, Cape Breton, NS. Room & Board ($500, payable to Gampo Abbey) is in addition to tuition. Transportation is student’s responsibility. Required textbooks available through the Campus Store.
