area of Jiuhua Mountain and that's why the tea is called "Jiuhua Buddhist Tea".
Buddhism was introduced into China in the
tIle West Han Dynasty and was introduced
into Jiuhua Mountain in the Tang Dynasty, which is a very prosperous historical

in the year of719, Kim Kiao kak, a member of the Korean royal family, came and
settled down in Jiuhua Mountain, choosing it as an ideal place for his practice of
Buddhism for 75 years. He also brought with him some tea seeds and cultivated
the tea at the foot of the Shenguang ridge. By drinking tea he could savor the days
of his long-time religious meditation. Kim Kiao kak made great contributions to
the BlKtdhist

Wutai Mountain in Shanxi and. Putuo Mountain in Zhejiang, became the sacred places of the
four great Buddhist Mountains in China.

Jiuhua Tea originated in close relationship with Buddhism .It has promoted the local economy because more
more monks and nuns have come here, and more and more temples have been built. According to the tex

The tea cultivated in Jiuhua Mountain is closely related to Buddhism. Jiuhua tea was first introduced and
cultivated by Buddhists. On the other hand, the mountain climate is quite favorable for tea growing.
3.Tea processing and Buddhism
At first, Jiuhua Tea was made with the leaves boiled directly in water and dried in the sun for storage. Then
it was made through steaming, balling and drying.
And now it is processed through steaming loose
product and pot-stir-roasting loose product. Jiuhua Tea was first grown in Tang Dynasty, but the processing
of "Tian Tai Yun Wu" and "Jiuhua Long Ya" was said to begin in the Song Dynasty.
4.Tea culture and Buddhism
In the past, many eminent monks liked to write tea poems, sing tea songs, draw pictures about tea and
make friends with scholars in tea activities, which has enriched the content of the Chinese tea culture.
