Supported by Ven Ajahn Brahm is a witty and humourous speaker with great insights and wisdom. A Theoretical Physics graduate from Cambridge University, he has spent almost 40 years in the forest practising meditation. He is the Abbot of Bodhinyana Monastery in Western Australia with 22 monks under his training. He is also the Spiritual Patron of the Buddhist Fellowship. Ven Thubten Chodron was ordained as a Buddhist nun by Kyabje Ling Rinpoche in Dharamsala, India, and in 1986 she received bhikshuni (full) ordination in Taiwan. She founded Sravasti Abbey, a Buddhist monastic community in Washington State, USA, and is currently the Abbess there. Ven Ajahn Brahmali was ordained as a bhikkhu with Ajahn Brahm as his preceptor. Apart from being responsible for the building work at Bodhinyana Monastery, Ajahn Brahmali teaches the monastic rules and gives Pali classes. He teaches regularly at BSWA and in Singapore. Ajahn Brahmali has also published a number of articles on important points of the Dhamma. Ven K. Rathanasara Thero was born in southeastern Sri Lankan village of Bibile, he became a novice monk at the age of 12 in 1984 and received his higher ordination (Upasampada) in 1998 at the Malwatu Maha Viharaya in Kandy, Sri Lanka. He is also a Spiritual Patron of the Buddhist Fellowship. Prof Richard Gombrich born in 1937, is an Indologist and scholar of Sanskrit, Pali, and Buddhist Studies. He was the Boden Professor of Sanskrit at the University of Oxford from 1976 to 2004. He is currently Founder-President of the Oxford Centre for Buddhist Studies. He is a past President of the Pali Text Society (1994–2002) and General Editor Emeritus of the Clay Sanskrit Library. Dr Wong Yin Onn graduated with distinction from the University of Malaya. He joined Monash University in February 2007 to form the pioneer faculty of the new Clinical School in Johor Bahru. Dr Wong has been active in teaching medical students, and doctors sitting for Post Graduate examinations since settling in private practice as a Consultant Physician in Johor Bahru in 1990. Mr Tan Chade Meng is a Google pioneer; a New York Times bestselling author; a thought leader; and a philanthropist. He is the Founder and President of the Tan Teo Charitable Foundation; Founder and Chairman of the Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute (SIYLI) and Founding Patron of Stanford University’s Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education. Dr Ang Beng Choo was a school teacher, a school inspector, a curriculum and textbook developer, a teachers’ trainer, a university lecturer and a Director at the Ministry of Education. She has been actively involved in education and social work for almost 50 years. She is a marriage solemniser and a Patron of the Buddhist Fellowship. Ms Angie Chew Monksfield is the President of the Buddhist Fellowship, Founder and Chairperson of Brahm Centre Ltd, a charity dedicated to Happy & Healthy Living, and founding member of the Buddhist Council of Singapore. She served as Vice President in the Singapore Computer Society for 6 years, Advisor to WINGS and a member of MICA’s Arts Consultative Panel. Ms Foo Siew Fong PBM, heads the Family and Matrimonial Law Practice Group and the Private Client and Wealth Management Practice Group. In 2002, she was named as one of Singapore’s preeminent family law practitioners in their Legal Who’s Who by the Asian Legal Business. In 2011, she was awarded the Outstanding Volunteer of the Year in the Advocate and Solicitor Category by the Family and Juvenile Justice Division. Datuk Dr Victor Wee is President of Buddhist Gem Fellowship and Chairman of Sakyamuni Buddha Foundation. He was given the Nalanda Award by Nalanda Institute, Bodhi Award by Yayasan Bodhi Malaysia, Young Missioners Award by Buddhist Missionary Society Malaysia and Outstanding Young Malaysian Award by JAYCEE. He is Chairman of Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board and Chairman for the Programme Committee of the UN World Tourism Organisation based in Madrid. Dr Ho Eu Chin is an Otolaryngology Consultant at Tan Tock Seng Hospital in Singapore. His main clinical and research interest is in the management of ear diseases. He enjoys reading, traveling and contemplating on how Buddhist philosophy can be applied to the many challenges of our modern lives. Mr Keek Seng Bee started his career as a social worker and later joined a HR consulting group. He is now a Partner of DPI Strategic Consultants Sdn Bhd. He has spent more than 20 years in the areas of Leadership Assessment, Development & Coaching and Competency-based Human Resource Strategies. Dr Ng Wai Chong is the Medical Director of Hua Mei Centre for Successful Aging and also the Assistant Director of Hua Mei Mobile Clinic. He is currently a member of MSF-Adult Protection Team and the physician-in-charge of Hua Mei EPICC, an innovative community-based health and social day care service. He is also on the Medical Advisory Board for the Agency for Integrated Care in Singapore. Dr Ng Yee Kong is the President of Firefly Mission and an Associate Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He started leading humanitarian efforts to Sri Lanka and Myanmar since 2001 when he was a committee member in the Buddhist Fellowship. Dr Phua Dong Haur works as an Emergency Physician at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and is also trained in Clinical Toxicology. He is also actively involved in undergraduate and post-graduate medical teaching. Dr Tan Bhing Leet is the Head of Occupational Therapy Department, Institute of Mental Health (IMH). She holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Occupational Therapy from the University of Exeter, UK; a PhD in Psychiatry, University of Queensland, Australia and a MSc in Mental Health, Kings College London, UK. In 2011, she received a National Day Award Commendation Medal. Dr Tan Ho Soon graduated with an MBA, a PhD in Business and a Bachelor degree in Buddhist & Pali University of Sri Lanka. Dr Tan is the Founding Director of Nalanda Institute, Malaysia. He also founded the Nalanda Buddhist Society in 2003 and set up the Nalanda Dharma School for teenagers in 2005.
