CHENGA CHOIPA The Chenga Choipa Puja was conducted for the first time in Buddha Peace Park and third time in Bomdila for the devotees of Himalayan Region. According to Abbot of GRL Monastry, Geshi Thupten Kunven, Chenga Choipa is puja of Butter ghee made statue of Lord Buddha in the top middle, in the down below right corner Goddess Zse-tsun Drema (Green Tara Devi), in the left corner Goddess Lhamu Yangchen ( Sarasati ), in the middle God Je Yabse Sum, the three founder of Gelukpa Sect Buddhist. Earlier, the Chenga Choipa offering Puja was conducted at Tenzing Gaon where devotees from different region and corner attends for getting blessings but due to migration of Monks from Tenzing Gaon, the same was discontinued. For the World Peace and for the welfare of the sentient being, Chenga Choipa puja is offered on the 15th day of the month Dawa Dangpu in Lunar Calendar on day of full moon. It is also called 15th day offering of the Month i.e closing day of Lo-Sar Celebration. Now for the welfare of sentient being and the devotees of Himalyan Region, the same has been resumed at Bomdila by GRL Monastry. He further said, as the blessings of Chenga Choipa is auspicious for the sentient being and the devotees, next year onward it will be conducted in larger scale in Buddha Peace Park, Bomdila for easy access of the devotees of the Himalayan Region.
