Local Hospital Earns National Distinction for Cancer Care
ARLINGTON, Texas – (June 24, 2012) USMD Hospital at Arlington has been rated #4 in the
nation for cancer care by CareChex. CareChex is a medical quality rating service of The Delta
Group — the nation's largest privately-held healthcare information service company. CareChex
provides clinical, financial, and patient satisfaction findings to consumers, providers, and
purchasers of U.S. medical care.
The "Cancer Care" clinical category includes medical conditions such as malignant breast
disorders, respiratory neoplasms, leukemia, as well as surgeries such as mastectomy, kidney
procedures for neoplasm and lymphoma with major surgical procedures. Relying on both
public and proprietary measures of performance, CareChex compares the quality of hospital
and physician care to national, state, and local standards using a variety of process, outcome,
and patient satisfaction measures to assign a composite quality score and rating.
