RE: Art Director Employment Position

To Whom It May Concern:
[email protected]
It is with great enthusiasm that I submit my application for consideration for the
Art Director role with your company. Given my design experience over the course
of 16 years working in advertising, I believe I would be a perfect fit for this job.
After researching and learning more about The Advisory Board Company and
Royall & Company, I would consider it a privilege to work within the organization.

I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in
Graphic Design, and have dedicated my entire career to that field. I currently work for
The King Agency in Richmond, Virginia where my clients include McGeorge Toyota, Mac
Tools, Sentara Martha Jefferson, Performance Food Groups among others. In this position,
I am responsible for all of the design elements created within the agency including print
ads, web design, direct marketing materials, and TV concepts.
At my previous job with Free Agents Marketing, our largest client was Bon Secours
Health System. While there, I helped create and concept design and campaign ideas
across their entire system including areas related to: overall brand work, orthopedics,
cancer, and sports medicine initiatives. Examples of creative work included all web
design for each service line as well as all print ads, TV concepts, in-office brochures,
direct mail pieces to patients and physicians, and out of home billboard design.
One of my favorite projects that I worked on was for the opening of the Bon Secours
Washington Redskins Training Camp. It combined my passion for design work with my
passion for sports as I was a pitcher for the VCU baseball team. My creative team was in
charge of creating all direct mail and promotional pieces for the grand opening. Materials
created for that opening helped generate enough buzz that it was a record breaking
attendance year for Redskins Training Camp.
And while the Redskins project tapped into my passion for sports, the project
I worked on for Movin’ Mania, a fitness based initiative for children sponsored by
Bon Secours, tapped into the love I have for kids. As a father to three young children,
I understand the importance of teaching healthy and active lifestyles to kids. With
Movin’ Mania, I designed an entire web experience aimed to teaching children tips
and tricks about fitness as well as an introduction to an entire fitness based team
of characters – The Movin’ Maniacs. Using my own children for inspiration,
I created five characters including their names, their costumes and their own
unique characteristics that would get kids interested in fitness.
In addition to the above projects, I have also won several awards. This is not what
makes me come to work. It’s my passion for design that keeps me coming back. I look
forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Bryan Farkas
