L-Carnitina
L-Carnitina
L-Carnitina is an amino acid that is produced in the human body in the kidneys and liver from the amino
lysine and methionine and it is stored in the skeletal muscles, the heart, the brain and the sperm cells.
We can also get it from external sources to achieve multiple benefits. The main food sources of L-carnitine are red
meat and dairy products.

Indications
•It speeds up fat loss: L-carnitine transports the longchain fatty acids and triglycerides to the mitochondria
for it to be burnt when we do aerobic physical exercise.
It also reduces fatigue.

•It
increases muscle mass: it enables anaerobic
physical exercise and increases physical performance.

•It slows down the loss of bone mass.
•In cases of heart diseases:
•Angina: L-carnitine helps to reduce the symptoms of angina and improves the capacity of people with
angina to do exercise without experiencing chest pain.
•Heart attack: carnitine can help (along with conventional medicine) to improve the quality of life after
a heart attack and to reduce the possibilities of suffering another one.
•Kidney diseases: L-carnitine is recommended to help offset the carnitine deficiency when the kidneys are not
producing it.
•Male infertility: it helps to increase the number of sperm cells with correct mobility and improves the quality of
sperm.
•Type II diabetes: it increases oxidation, storage and uptake of glucose.
•Antioxidant
•It improves brain function: it protects the brain from damage caused by the passing of time or stress. It
improves memory problems in the elderly.
Contraindications
• It is probably safe for the majority of adults. It may cause some side effects like stomach discomfort,
nausea, vomiting and agitation. Some people have also noted a “fishy” smell in urine, respiration and sweat.
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding: the effects are unknown.
• Do not use L-carnitine if you have an underactive thyroid
gland: it may interfere with the thyroid hormone.
• Do not take if you suffer from seizures.
• Some anticoagulants interact with L-Carnitine: Acenocoumarol and Warfarin.
Presentation:
20 x 3 g. sticks of L-Carnitine.
Directions for use:
Take 1 stick a day before physical exercise.
