Simpson, Sheriff FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Date: February 11, 2016 Sheriff Mike Simpson TRAFFIC COMPLAINT LEADS TO DRUG ARRESTS Deputies investigated a traffic complaint on February 6th at approximately 4:30 P.M. on US 35 near Sample Drive. Contact with occupants in a vehicle matching the description was made on Sample Drive. While deputies were talking with the driver and passenger, both were extremely nervous. This led deputies to request consent to search the vehicle. Consent was granted. During the search of the vehicle, deputies located heroin and methamphetamine, as well as a syringe. They also located several items associated with the manufacturing process of methamphetamine, including coffee filters, batteries, Lye, Drano and rubber tubing. Deputies arrested both occupants, Zachary Hodapp, age 23 of West Alexandria and Joshua Straszheim, age 28 of Eaton. Both have been formally charged in Eaton Municipal Court with the following: • • • • • Illegal Assembly or Possession of Chemicals for the Manufacture of Drugs, F-3 Aggravated Possession of Drugs, F-5 Possession of heroin, F-5 Possession Drug Abuse Instruments, M-2 Illegal Use or Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, M-4 Both are currently housed in the Preble County Jail.
