Eaton Electric South Africa’s head office
and 31 510 m² factor y is situated in
Wadeville, Gauteng and operates through
its branches, as well as via an extensive
network of distributors and channel
partners located throughout South Africa
and sub-Saharan Africa. Manufacturing
facilities in both Durban and Witbank
are supported by sales support offices
in Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Pretoria,
Rustenburg, Nelspruit, Potchefstroom
and Vanderbijlpark with a total staff
c o m p l e m e n t o f 4 7 0 p e r s o n n e l. T h e
company conforms to the globally
recognised ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
standards, and adheres to the operational
health and safety standard OSHAS
18001. Local technical support, backed
by international expertise, is available
to provide solutions for almost any
industry application. Its products are well
established across a broad spectrum of
industries from mining, and iron and steel
to petro-chemical, food, sugar, pulp and
paper throughout sub-Saharan Africa.
The power distribution and power quality
product portfolios comprise six divisional
areas:

– medium voltage and motor control
centres.




Electrical systems and solutions (ESS)

Industrial automation business (IAB) –
electronic relays, PLCs and HMIs.
Industrial control devices (ICD) –
conveyor safety, control devices,
contactors and timing relays.
Power distribution components (PDC)
– air, moulded and miniature circuit
breakers, photovoltaic and solar
solutions.
Power quality division (PQ) – single
and three phase UPSs, ePDUs, power
management solutions software and
back-up supplies.
Service – back up service and
contracts.

coordination of the project from planning,
design and manufacture to installation,
commissioning and after sales support.
The company also operates fully equipped
s e r v i c e c e n t r e s c a p a b l e o f t e s t i n g,
repairing, upgrading and refurbishing
equipment to client specifications. A
variety of projects are undertaken such
as the design and manufacture of motor
control centres, power distribution boards,
bus ducting systems, purpose-built field
control stations, control desks and HMI
panels, winch and hoist controllers,
neutral earthing and brake resistors. The
company also undertakes the design of
process control systems, master planning
and management information systems as
well as back up supply solutions. Customer
ser vicing is conducted by technically
qualified staff on a direct basis where a
high degree of applications engineering
and technical expertise is required. The
company ’s staff, distributors and channel
partners undergo extensive training in
order to keep them abreast of current
technological developments and trends.
It is this hands-on approach that ensures
that clients, big or small, find a solution
to their specific needs.
