National Development Plan
Vision 2040
The Plan will act as a roadmap for the Bahamas in identifying short, medium and long term goals.
It will be steered by broad research, analysis and public consultation intended to focus on the
Economy, Governance, Social Policy and the Environment.
The Plan is expected to:
o Examine vital areas including social development, the economy,
the environment and governance
o Establish national strategic priorities
o Identify key prospects for development and growth
o Identify any major strains associated with the country’s prospects
for development and growth
o Develop strategies for achieving established goals for national development
The development process will include three distinct phases: diagnosis, a national conversation,
and plan development.
