Mission
Our company, Teleports mission is to efficiently expand your business to foreign
countries with your satisfactory guaranteed. We want to thrive wherever you are and want to
help you put you in a place that you can do that.
Product
Golden Spoon is a frozen yogurt company that first started out as a company called
“Yogurt and Things”. This business was made by Jeff Barnes and opened in 1983. However
within just a year, Jeff Barnes dropped the “and Things” from the name and stuck to just make
making a healthier frozen yogurt.
Three years later, in 1986 Golden Spoon made some of their top selling yogurts today,
like Old Fashion Vanilla, Just Chocolate, Fresh Strawberry, and Peanut Butter. Once 2002 came
around, Golden Spoon made fifty custom flavors. Six years later, in 2008 they had eighty custom
flavors. A few more great flavors are cake batter, Orange 50/ 50, Pumpkin Pie, and Chocolate
Malt.
After Jeff Barnes died, Golden Spoon became a franchise. Also have many different
locations with many owners not only in the United States. Golden Spoon is well known
throughout Orange County and with improvement will do very well.
Golden Spoon is a healthier way of eating ice cream and is a fun, refreshing place to go
after school or a game. Also it has so many one of kind flavors that are way better than buying at
the market. The even have your low fat yogurt. The flavors change with the season and monthly
so you could always look forward to the next month’s flavors.
The soccer moms used to be a the main target market to get their kids to come after a hot
tiring day of soccer, but Golden Spoon has realized they are going to have to start their focus on
the kids. About 90% of frozen yogurt stores now have the self-serve option, were as Golden
Spoon only does in a few loctions so they can stick to tradition. After sports the moms want to go
to Golden Spoon but they say their kids want to go somewhere like Yo Yum Yum or Yogurt
land, where they can serve their own yogurt. In some locations Golden Spoon is giving the
feeling of doing it themselves. Golden Spoon although would never make self-serve in every
store, they are still trying to some of those soccer moms back. Golden Spoon is a very friendly
environment that would never change the way it does stuff; like serve there yogurt, so self-serve
will only be in a few locations. So now Golden Spoon is trying to get the teens attention by
making an app. This app is available on any “i” devices. It allows the person on it to search the
nearest location to them and what flavors they have their. Golden Spoon has a big range of target
markets because is friendly environment for elders (senior discount), refreshing for anybody on a
hot day or after playing a game.
Place
Teleport would like to place Golden Spoon in Pune, India. The exact location is
Pune, Senapati, Bapat Road, 9th floor ICC tower, A-wing. The reason for choosing this location
is because it is near other food franchises bringing in customers to the area. Another reason for
choosing this location is because it is near Holly Public High School, considering that your main
target is teenagers. Pune attracts Visitors from all over to see the historical buildings, temples,
and bakeries and amusements parks.
This location is also in one of the wealthiest cities in India, Pune is the fourth
wealthiest city as of last year. The average middle class 3 person family in Pune makes about
35k and spends about 25k. India loves yogurt and uses it in most of their foods and there is very
few frozen yogurt stores in India. Pune india has the same climate as southern California
between 68 degrees and 90 degrees.
This is pretty far from the US so Golden Spoon may be wondering how Teleport
is going to transport the frozen yogurt. Teleport plans on transporting by ship. Teleport would
use this for wholesale. Ships would be much cheaper than by air (the only other means of
international shipping). An easy way is to locally produce the yogurt, this is cheaper in the long
run and easier.
Country Background
In the early 16th century, northern India was under mainly Muslim rulers. By the
early 18th century, with the lines between commercial and political dominance being
increasingly blurred, a number of European trading companies, including the English, East India
Company had established coastal outposts. From 1848 to 1885 is to be believed when the
modern India started.
As being the largest Democratic Country in the world, India has central parliament
and legislatures. In India they have a central government and state government. The Central
Government which controls the main authority, which includes the foreign policy, currency,
communications, defense, taxation on corporations and nonagricultural income, and railroads.
The state government takes authority over law and order, public health, local government,
betting, gambling, alcohol beverages, taxation on income and entertainment.
India has many of the same business practices as us in the United States. Such as,
we call people Ms., Mrs., and Mr. and their last name. Also must shake your partners hand and
exchange business cards before meeting starts. There they must they must not shake a women’s
hand unless they offer to shake your hand. Also do not stand with your hands on your hips; it is a
sign of aggression.
In India, it has the third largest economy in terms of purchasing power. India’s
economy has grown extremely fast from the past decades, in their GDP, trade liberalization,
financial liberalization, tax reforms and opening up to foreign investments. All of these were
steps to help gain and maintain their economy. Their Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at factor
cost, which reached 6.5 in 2011-2012. India’s few problems in their economy are their 36 crore
people living in poverty, because of the increasing population there is the cause of
unemployment, and the rural urban divide.
India is full of various different heritages and culture. For example in their culture
a practice is that men and women cannot exchange a kiss in public. It has always been famous
for its traditions and hospitality, as well as its generosity and liveliness which attract many of
tourists.
The growth in India is constantly growing so it is hard to tell the population but
right now there is approximately 1,205,073,612 people. The average age for a person to live in
India is around 67. Going to school in India in some places is difficult so on average about 10
years of school is what most people have. In India there are around 2.06 births and 7.43 deaths.
Indians believe in constant celebration of life so there are a lot of festivals and
fair. Almost every day of the year is celebrated as a festival here. Some of festivals are to
celebrate the coming of seasons, rains, the full moon or the harvest. As well as their religious
occasions, birthdays of saints, or the advent of a new year are also celebrated as festivals. This
could be a big advantage for a store like Golden Spoon, like putting advertisements at these
festivals.
Some issues that may affect business in India would be location and religion. The
location would be a problem because if it was placed in a poor part of India the people there
wouldn’t have enough money to spend on ice cream. So the smart thing to do would be to would
be to place it in a location where people go often to get food like in a mall, market center, or by a
school. If Golden Spoon was placed by a temple where Hinduism is big, nobody would want to
eat the yogurt because of it is made with milk from the sacred cow. Golden Spoon would have to
be willing to change some of their menu and their milk to soy milk.
Using all of this information we will find the right stop to place Golden Spoon.
With enough background on India, government, culture, and many of their practices, there
should be enough information to create a great new hang out spot India.
