Packaging: (500 mℓ black only), 1 l and 5 l. Storage and Packaging All surfaces must be firm, dry and clean, free from oil, grease or any other contaminants. MILD STEEL: Degrease with METALCARE AQUASOLV DEGREASER (GR 1) and rinse thoroughly with fresh water. Allow to dry. Remove rust or peeling paint with the appropriate REMOVALL COATING/RUST REMOVER product or by sanding or steel wire brushing back to a bright metal surface. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water and allow to dry. GALVANISED STEEL: Clean with METALCARE GALVANISED IRON CLEANER (GIC 1) to a water break-free surface. Remove rust by sanding or steel wire brushing back to a bright metal surface. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water and allow to dry. ALUMINIUM: Degrease with METALCARE AQUASOLV DEGREASER (GR 1) followed by fresh water rinses until a water break-free surface is obtained. Abrade with “Scotchbrite” scouring pads to remove oxide layer. Overcoat within 4 hours. Surface Preparation 1. 2. 3. Application • • Thin and apply as recommended. Apply a second coat if necessary to achieve the recommended DFT. Allow recommended drying times before overcoating. Caution • • • • • • Before overcoating METALCARE ETCH PRIMER ensure that the surface is thoroughly clean. Nitrocellulose based coatings are not recommended for the overcoating of this etch primer. Always keep paint out of reach of children. Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. If accidental contact with skin should occur, wash immediately with soap and water or a recognised skin cleaner. Take care to avoid contact with the eyes. In case of contact, immediately rinse the eyes with plenty of water and seek medical attention. Harmful if swallowed. Seek medical attention and do not induce vomiting. Do not smoke while painting. Flammable. Store in a cool dry place away from heat and sparks. Refer to Material Safety Data Sheet for complete information.
