EasyMP3 Board Part No.:MPMICRO-Accessory-Audio/Voice-EasyMP3 Overview EasyMP3 Board is a prototyping tool provided with the VS1011e MPEG audio decoder. The board includes an MPEG audio layer 3 decoder VS1011e with SPI Interface. Pinout connectors enable easy connection with peripheral modules. Note: VS1011e is designed for work with 3.3V microcontrollers. In order to use the EasyMP3 board with 5V MCUs, a voltage translator must be used. Speaker is not included in the price! Description The EasyMP3 Board features a single-chip MPEG audio decoder VS1011e. The chip includes a high-performance, low-power DSP processor core VS DSP4, working memory, 5 KiB instruction RAM and 0.5 KiB data RAM for user applications, serial control and input data interfaces, 4 general purpose I/O pins, as well as a high-quality variable-sample-rate stereo DAC, followed by an earphone amplifier and a common buffer. Examples Examples provided with this board will show you how to connect the MP3 decoder to a microcontroller easily. Each example contains a detailed description of the relevant program including comments. All examples can be downloaded from this page as well. • Demonstration of VS1011e MPEG layer 3 audio decoder with PIC microcontroller. This device receives input bitstream and plays it on headphones output.
