X s Xs1200 S E R I E S Architectural & Engineering Specifications Xs1200 (120 V, 60 Hz model) The Crown® Xs1200 power amplifier shall be a solid-state two-channel model employing Class H output circuitry. The amplifier shall include protection from shorted, open and mismatched loads, general overheating, DC, high-frequency overloads, under/over voltage, and internal faults. The front-panel controls shall be a power switch and a gray rotary level control (one per channel). The recommended load impedance shall be 2 to 8 ohms. Rear-mounted input connectors shall be a 3-pin Phoenix-style connector (one per channel) and an XLR-1/4"combo connector (one per channel) including a 3-pin female XLR connector and TRS 1/4" phone jack. Rearmounted output connectors shall be binding posts (one pair per channel), a 4-pole Speakon connector (one per channel), and a 3-pin male XLR connector (one per channel) in parallel with the XLR-1/4" combo and Phoenix-style connectors for daisy-chain connections. Front panel indicators shall include a yellow Bridge-Mode Indicator that illuminates when the Mode Switch is set to the “Bridge” position, a green Signal Indicator (one per channel) that illuminates when the channel’s input signal level is above –40 dBu, a red Clip Indicator (one per channel) that illuminates when the channel’s output signal is being overdriven, a red Temp Indicator (one per channel) that illuminates when channel(s) are in thermal protect mode, a red Fault Indicator that illuminates when the amplifier is in protect mode and also briefly during normal power-up when amplifier is first switched on, a yellow Power Indicator that indicates amplifier has been turned on, and a red AC Mains Indicator that illuminates when AC power is present at the power cord. The power amplifier shall meet or exceed the following performance criteria. Input sensitivity for rated output: 1.4V (except for rated output at 0.5% THD with one channel driven in Dual mode into 4 ohms). Rated output with both channels driven in Dual mode into 8 ohms (1 kHz): 650 watts per channel at 0.15% THD. Rated output with both channels driven in Dual mode into 4 ohms (1 kHz): 1,100 watts per channel at 0.15% THD. Rated output with both channels driven in Dual mode into 2 ohms (1 kHz): 1,600 watts per channel at 0.5% THD. Bridge-mono output power into 8 ohms (1 kHz): 2,300 watts at 0.15% THD. Bridge-mono output power into 4 ohms (1 kHz): 3,000 watts at 0.5% THD. Frequency Response at 1 watt, 22 Hz to 22 kHz: ± 1 dB. Signal to Noise Ratio below rated power: > 109 dB A-weighted, > 107 dB (22Hz to 22 kHz filter). Total Harmonic Distortion at full rated power from 20 Hz to 20 kHz: < 0.5%. Intermodulation Distortion (IMD) 60 Hz and 7 kHz at 4:1: < 0.5% from full rated output to –30 dB and < 1.0% from full rated output to –40 dB. Load impedance: 2-8 ohms stereo and 4-8 ohms bridge mono. Voltage gain (at maximum level setting): 47.4:1 (33.5 dB). AC Line Voltage and Frequency Configurations Available (± 10%): 120 VAC/60 Hz and 240 VAC/50 Hz. Damping Factor: > 200 from 10 to 100 Hz. Crosstalk (below rated power): > 65 dB at 1 kHz and > 45 dB at 20 kHz. DC Output Offset (shorted input): < ± 75 mV. Input Impedance (nominal): 20 kilohms balanced, 10 kilohms unbalanced. The amplifier chassis shall be constructed of steel with a durable black finish and shall be designed for forced-air ventilation from the front panel to the back panel. The dimensions of the amplifier shall allow for 19 inch (48.3 cm) EIA standard (RS-310-B) rack mounting. The amplifier shall be 3.5 inches (8.9 cm) tall, and 17.14 inches (43.5 cm) deep behind the rack-mounting surface. The amplifier shall weigh 28 lb 14 oz (13.1 kg). The amplifier shall be designated the Crown Xs1200. Crown International P.O. Box 1000 Elkhart, IN 46515-1000 TEL: 574-294-8200 FAX: 574-294-8FAX www.crownaudio.com © 2006 Crown Audio® , Inc.
