DATA SHEET January 2011 CO-B-006 Poly♦Stel 1 Bare Rod Gas Tungsten Arc Welding / Oxygen Acetylene Welding DESCRIPTION Poly♦Stel 1, a cobalt based bare cast rod that has the highest hardness and wear resistance of the standard cobalt alloys. Poly♦Stel 1 is used in elevated temperature, high wear applications. The alloy has a high volume of chromium carbide in a cobalt matrix, producing excellent resistance to abrasion and solid particle erosion. It is difficult to machine requiring carbide tools or grinding. It can be applied to all weldable steels, including stainless steels.
