IB70 / IB100 DUAL CONTROL COMPRESSOR
REFRIGERATOR INSTRUCTIONS
Key Product Features:

The most reliable portable cooling system in the world – Powered by Danfoss

Danfoss electronic technology means high efficiency and low energy consumption

The unit uses a dual cooling system allowing the fridge to be a set as a
freezer in both compartments, a fridge in either compartment or a freezer on
one side and a fridge in the other compartment.

Digital thermostat allows accurate temperature control

Adjustable digital battery protection helps protect your battery efficiently.

CFC free high quality refrigeration foam insulation
Safety Instructions

Do not use your unit if any cabling is damaged, frayed or there is exposed wiring.

Do not attempt or continue to operate your unit if water or moisture gets near the
electronic components and wiring.

When using the unit ensure the circuit being used has a fuse or circuit breaker,
recommended size for DC 12 Volt is 15 Amp, DC 24 Volt is 7.5 Amp and AC is 4
Amp.

Make sure the voltage is within the correct range for the socket and cable being
used. The technical data label on the side of the unit shows the voltage ranges.

Do not place any electrical devices (such as AC Adaptors) inside the refrigerator as
they may be damaged.
Notes on using the product

Your unit requires good ventilation, especially around the compressor vents; allow a
gap of at least 100mm around all sides.

Do not allow a large amount of ice to build up on the inside walls as this may impair
cooling. Defrost by turning the unit off, allowing the ice to melt and wipe out the
water. (Do not use sharp instruments to remove the ice as this may damage the
refrigerator and will void your warranty)

The lower the ambient temperature, the lower the power usage. In order to
maximize efficiency keep the unit in a cool location and out of direct sunlight.

It is recommended to operate the unit on a flat surface.

Operation
Power: Using the 12 Volt lead supplied, the fridge can be powered from any 12/24 Volt
power source (i.e. Battery). To use the fridge on 240 Volts an AC Adaptor must be used. The
minimum rated continuous output for the AC Adaptor must be 7 Amps with a peak rating of at
least 10 Amps.
Battery Protection:
Push and hold the
button for two seconds and the current battery voltage cutout setting
will flash on the display. You can adjust the low voltage cutout to your own needs. The
default and recommended voltage is 10.5 Volts. Press
again once you are happy with
your selection.
Cable Length Specification
The DC cables must have a suitable cross-section for their length** (measured from the
battery to the unit), according to this table:

When
light is ON, the fridge is running at MAXIMUM speed.
o It is recommended that if the ambient temperature is above 30oC then
please use MAXIMUM mode.
o Also if you would like to freeze products faster please use
MAXIMUM mode.
o MAXIMUM mode will increase the amount of power used.
If the power source is cut off or disconnected, the unit will switch off
automatically. Once the power is restored it will automatically switch back on

INSTRUCTIONS
Cleaning and maintenance

Never use abrasive products, detergents or soap. After washing, wipe out with a
clean cloth and dry carefully.

Clean the appliance inside and out with a damp cloth. If it is dirty, use a small
amount of sodium bicarbonate dissolved in lukewarm water to clean the unit.

Do not store electronic items (e.g. AC Adaptor) inside the unit as any humidity or
moisture may damage the electronic item.

Do not store perishables inside the unit if it is not operating as a fridge.

When putting the unit into storage ensure that it is completely dry and leave the lid
slightly ajar to allow ventilation.
Troubleshooting
The unit does not turn on
o
o
o
o
Check whether the unit has been turned on and plugged in.
Check the power supply (try a different power source, i.e. different vehicle, power
socket or power adaptor)
Check whether the plug and the socket have a good connection.
Check whether the fuse has burnt out or blown.
Poor cooling performance
o
o
o
o
o
o
o
Too much product has been placed inside the unit
There is too much warm product inside the unit
The lid is unlatched / or open
The lid seal is broken
The cooling vents are blocked (ensure at least 100mm of space around all vents)
The ambient temperature is very high
The temperature setting is not cold enough
Can hear the sound of running water from inside the unit
o This is normal, due to the flow of refrigerant in the piping.
Unusual noise when refrigerator is working
o This may be caused by your refrigerator not running on a level surface.
If none of the above solves your issue please contact Evakool on 07 5492 7777 or your local
Evakool service centre.
