AMPLIFIER JG S60 SE (Special Edition)
JG Audio went even further in the limited, Special Edition of the top model, the JG
S60. The SE shares with the normal version the "single - ended structure, class A,
only two amplification stages, no global feedback and regulated independent supplies
for each channel. However, the Special Edition version offers some important
differences:
- The power output has been increased to 70 w per channel.
- The triode employed can be the great EC8010 or the rare and almost legendary
Telefunken EC8020, one of the highest transconductance triodes ever made.
- The regulated power supplies have undergone several evolutions, making them even
faster and lowering the respective output impedances.
- The SE benefits from new protection and thermal management circuits.
Unhappily, the technical specification that
makes these triodes absolutely superlative
amplification devices goes with the scarcity
of the EC8010 and the true rarity of the
EC8020. Probably the S60 SE is the only
amplifier sold in the world that can use the
Telefunken EC8020.
Each channel of the JG S60 SE aims at building one Telefunken EC8020 capable of
delivering 70 w in class A. We believe that we have done it!
When hearing through the S60 SE it can be felt that attributes like transparency,
dynamics and control are perfectly targeted for the full enjoyment of music.
SPECIFICATION
• Topology: Single Ended Classe A, two stages and output transformer. All the voltage gain is given
by the first stage built around one single triode per channel.
• Power output (20 Hz a 20 kHz): 70 Watts, THD ≤ 0,5 %.
• Bandwidth at 1 W (- 3 dB): 5 Hz to 150 kHz.
• Bandwidth at 70 W (- 3 dB): 15 Hz to 150 kHz.
• Global feedback: 0 dB.
• Input sensivity (8 Ω, 70 W, EC8020): 1,5 V rms.
• Voltage gain (8 Ω, EC8020): aprox. 23 dB.
• Input impedance: 100 kΩ.
• Output impedance: < 0,5 Ω.
• Minimum recommended load: 2 Ω.
• Stored Energy : aprox. 600 joules.
• Dimensions – 45.0 cm (W) x 41.5 cm (D) x 14 cm (H), not counting with handles and
loudspeaker terminals.
• Weight: 39 kg.
