POWER SUPPLIES AND STATIONS RECULAR
FOR CATHODE PROTECTION
General:
The power supplies RECULAR for cathode protection are designed for active corrosive protection of pipelines
and other metal objects stored in ground or in water, from the corrosion caused by changing wandering
currents from DC traction or other sources. They are available for the all of electrode types.
Assortment:
Power supplies are produced in three versions:
ƒ single-phase power supply with microcomputer RECURAL 20,
type SZK 20 40/230M.1 - 20A, 40V DC
ƒ
three-phase power supply with microcomputer RECURAL 40,
type SZK 40 40/400M.1 - 40A, 40V DC
type SZK 40 40/400M.1K2 - 40A, 40V DC – box type B4
ƒ
single-phase power supply without microcomputer RECULAR 3,
type SZK 3 24/230 - 3A, 24V DC

Characteristics:
Switching power supplies RECURAL operate by middle-frequency power transmission with
frequency about 16 kHz. RECURAL 20, 40 contain control unit with microprocessor. Power
supplies control the output power and operate in 2 modes: in automatic and manual mode.
Required constant potential is maintained in automatic mode with measuring probe in the earth
and required constant voltage is maintained in manual mode.
Mode and required values for power supplies RECURAL 20, 40 are adjusted by 6-button
keyboard with 2x16 character alphanumeric LCD display. There is displayed just adjusted mode,
required value and all the measured values on the display. Parameter adjustment can be
protected by password.

Power supplies RECURAL 20, 40 enable to operate in
two clocking modes:
1. clock mode (internal) - asynchronous,
with
programmable clock parameters (by 0,1 sec)
2. clock mode (external) - synchronous from the binary
input (T+, T-) of master system, e.g. GPS system etc.
Options - extensions for RECURAL 20, 40
ƒ Serial interface RS 232/485 enables to communicate
through serial line with others devices: e.g. control
workplace, computer with visualizing software etc.
Remote parameter entering and monitoring is
possible to execute via modems or radio stations.
ƒ Microcomputer memory expansion for selected data
for supplementary printing by PC.
Connection and accessories of RECULAR 20, 40
Properties:
Used pulse-width regulation ensures high efficiency of switching power supplies in wide range of input voltage. Good regulating device
properties enable to operate in clock mode of output voltage with frequency 1 Hz. Power supply output is short circuit proof and galvanically
separated from input.

STATIONS FOR CATHODE PROTECTION RECURAL SZKS
The stations are designed as independent compact units that
supersede the kiosks and can be placed in outdoor environment e.g.
on the concrete foundations, power distributions, power poles, but
also in buildings.
In stations are used the power supplies PROTEC 3, 20, 40 that are
built in the lockable distributing box with covering to IP54. Besides
the power supply, there is electrometer in the box included (for
straight monitoring without opening the box), overvoltage
protections, required protection and terminals.
Access to control elements is from the front, to electrometer from the
side, cable bushings and terminals are located in bottom part of box.
