Low Profile Microphones
Visibly Better. With ParkerVision’s MY TURN™ Technology.
LPM-2000
Getting shut out of a conversation can be
frustrating—especially in distance learning
applications. But it doesn’t have to be
that way.
Why ParkerVision’s Low
Profile Microphones?
For these features available only from
ParkerVision:
ParkerVision’s supercardoid Low Profile
Microphone (LPM) makes distance learning
more interactive, putting camera control in
the hands of both the teacher, and students.
Our LPM-2000 helps to link teachers and
students, closing the gap between distance,
and face-to-face communications.
• Perfect for use with the CameraMan
Student Camera System.
• Sleek, low-profile design
• Highly directional pickup pattern for
clearer, more natural sound.
Microphone features
• Simple MY TURN™ on/off switch can be
configured to work three ways:
Momentary On, Touch On/Off, and
Momentary Off.
• Permanent surface-mounting for years of
reliable use.
• Simple DIP switch lets you choose to keep
the microphone on at all times (up), or only
when the MY TURN button is pressed (down).
• Using a 48V phantom power supply (not
included), the microphone provides lowimpedance balanced output and permits
long cable runs without hum pickup or highfrequency loss.
• Direct connection to the Programmable
Response Module (PRM-2000) for recalling
camera location presets.
• Highly directional pickup pattern minimizes
background noise, giving your voice a clean,
clear, and natural sound.
• Attenuates 70 dB when the audio is muted.
• Withstands up to 120 dB SPL without
distortion, and its electret-condenser capsule has
a frequency response from 40 Hz to 20 kHz.
• RFI suppression is included. Self-noise is low
and sensitivity is very high. A bass-tilt switch
and HF adjust allows the user to tailor the
response for particular applications.
Easy Operation
In “press-to-talk” mode, the MY TURN™ membrane switch can be configured to work three ways.
Choose your preferred option, then set the DIP switches according to the label on the bottom of the
microphone. The LED in the microphone housing will light when the microphone is on. And by
disabling the “mic gating” feature, micro-phone audio can be on at all times while, retaining switched
camera shot capabilities.
• Momentary On.
Touch and hold the switch to
close the location preset
contact and turn on the
microphone momentarily.
Release the switch to open
the location preset contact
and turn the microphone off.
• Touch On/Off.
Touch the switch to close
the location preset contact
and turn on the microphone.
Touch it again to open the
location preset contact and
turn off the microphone.
• Momentary Off.
Touch and hold the switch
to open the location preset
contact and turn off the
microphone momentarily.
Release the switch to close
the location preset contact
and turn the microphone
back on.
• Able to withstand high decibles without
distortion. It should never overload in
typical usage.
• Wide, flat frequency response.
• Disable Mic-Gating switch.
• Allows continuous audio, or
press-to-talk audio.

Microphone Warranty
Type: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Phase Coherent Cardioid®.
The microphone shall be the ParkerVision Model LPM-2000 or equivalent.
The microphone shall be a half-supercardioid electret condenser type,
utilizing a subminiature transducer of rugged construction.
ParkerVision warrants to the end user that this product will be free from
defects in material and/or workmanship for a one-year period commencing
the date of delivery, except where previously noted. For more detailed
warranty information, refer to any ParkerVision Product Installation or
Training Manual.
Element: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Electret condenser.
Frequency resp. (typical): . . . . . .40 Hz to 20,000 Hz at 30 degrees
incidence to surface. See Fig. 1.
Polar pattern: . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Half-supercardioid (supercardioid in the
hemisphere above the primary
boundary). See Figs. 2 and 3.
Impedance: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .150 ohms, balanced (recommended
load impedance 1000 ohms or greater).
Open circuit sens. (typical): . . . . . .22 mV/Pa* (-33 dB re 1 volt/Pa).
Power sensitivity: . . . . . . . . . . . .-30.5 dB re 1 mW/Pa*. EIA rating -125
dBm.
Equivalent noise
level (self-noise): . . . . . . . . . . . .22 dB SPL typical
(0 dB = .0002 dyne/cm2),
A-weighted.
S/N ratio: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .72 dB at 94 dB SPL.
Maximum SPL: . . . . . . . . . . . . .120 dB SPL produces 3% THD.
The microphone shall employ the principle of phase coherency achieved by
mounting a small-diameter element very near a boundary, thus eliminating
comb filtering in the audible spectrum. The microphone will exhibit
excellent off-axis response and gain-before-feedback.
A 10-foot, shielded cable with two additional conductors shall be supplied
with the microphone. The two additional conductors will provide a
contact closure resistance of less than 5 ohms when mic is ON, and will be
fully compatible with the ParkerVision Programmable Response Module
(PRM-2000).
Nominal sensitivity shall be 22 mV/Pa. Maximum SPL shall be 120 dB SPL
for 3% THD. Equivalent noise shall be 22 dBA nominal. Frequency
response shall be 40 Hz to 20,000 Hz with a uniform off-axis response,
over 20 dB down at the rear nulls.
Off Attenuation: . . . . . . . . . . .70 dB at 1 kHz.
Turn-on time: . . . . . . . . . . . . . .2.2 msec.
The following accessory cables are available:
MEC-2XXX (XXX= length in feet)
Microphone Extension Cables. These cables have a Switchcraft® TA5F connector on one end and a Switchcraft® TA-5M connector on
the other end. These cables are used to extend the length of the
microphone cable.
MYC-2000
Microphone “Y” Cable. This cable has a Switchcraft® TA-5F connector
on one end. The other end has an XLR and a 2-pos Phoenix
connector. Total length is 6'. It is used to breakout the 5-pin cable for
connecting the audio mixer and the PRM-2000.
Turn-off time: . . . . . . . . . . . . . .250 msec.
Polarity: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Positive pressure on the diaphragm
produces positive voltage on pin 2 with
respect to pin 3.
Operating voltage: . . . . . . . . . .Phantom power, 48 volts DC on pins 2
and 3 with respect to pin 1.
