MPMC products are Packaged COTS systems comprised of CompactPCI (cPCI), VMEbus or VPX backplanes housed in rugged chassis fully preconfigured with power supplies & high-performance Curtiss-Wright computing boards offering a wide range of I/O. MPMC Systems offer the unprecedented processing power and standard interfaces required by modern mission computers. MPMC Systems deliver off-the-shelf solutions to speed deployment of critical applications for space, weight and power (SWaP) constrained platforms such as combat vehicles, helicopters and UAVs. Packaged in ultra rugged enclosures, MPMC Systems are designed to meet the harsh environments of military and aerospace computing applications including Temperature Extremes, Altitude, Voltage Spikes, Shock, Vibration, and more. Ruggedization and Environmental Qualification Curtiss-Wright's MPMC Family of systems employ environmentally qualified solutions that have been designed for harsh military environments. Our ruggedized enclosure technologies have been environmentally qualified - below is a sample list of environmental conditions our systems can be qualified against (based on customer requirements): w Temperature Variation w Humidity w Operation Shocks w Vibration w Waterproofness w Fluid Susceptibility w Fungus Resistance w Magnetic Effect w Power Input w Voltage Spikes w Audio Frequency Conducted Susceptibility w Induced Signal Susceptibility w RF Susceptibility w Emission of RF Energy w Lightening Induced Transient Susceptibility w Electrostatic Discharge w Crash Safety (for airborne applications) w Temperature / Altitude (for airborne applications) Learn More Web / sales.cwcembedded.com Email / [email protected] Innovation In Motion. cwcembedded.com System Backplanes System Components w CompactPCI Systems The cPCI backplane operates in a 3.3 volt signaling environment, and, as an option, can be configured to operate at 5 volts. With a 32-bit data width operating at 33 MHz, it also supports 66 MHz for future upgrades. The P1 connectors route the cPCI signals and power while the 132-pin P2 connector leaves 105 pins available for user I/O. All rear I/O is routed through the J2 connector. The MPMC Family of systems are built from CurtissWright's vast embedded computing components which range from high-performance Processor modules, Graphics, Video, Networking & Communication I/O boards. Integrated into Curtiss-Wright's ultra rugged chassis, MPMC systems are easily modified to meet specific customer requirements. Once the card set is determined, all of the boards are integrated with the appropriate software and drivers into advanced rugged enclosures. w VME Systems The VME backplane allows for a 64-bit data path and specifies a master/slave computing configuration. Further, VME64 allows for geographical addressing and user defined I/O through the front panel – essential features of real time, mission critical computing systems. w VPX Systems The Versatile Performance Switching (VPX) module format, governed by the VITA 46 specification and the associated VITA 48 Ruggedized Enhanced Design Implementation (REDI) was established to address the fundamental requirement to provide open-architecture modules that incorporate the high-speed serial interconnect technology that is becoming pervasive in high performance computing.
