HEARTS & FLOWERS BLOCKS Follow the fusible web manufacturer’s instructions in Steps 1–4.
1. Trace the appropriate number of each template as listed in the fabric requirements onto the paper side of the
fusible web.
2. Roughly cut out each shape and press it onto the wrong side of the listed fabrics. Cut out each shape on the
LEAF B
drawn line.
3. Press a Large Heart onto the center of a Background A square. Repeat to make six Heart Blocks.
4. Following the quilt photo for placement, press a Flower, a Small Heart, a Stem, and one each Leaves A and B
onto a Background B square. Repeat to make six Flower Blocks.
5. Use pastel variegated thread to finish the raw edges of Hearts, Flowers, Stems, and Leaves with a decorative
stitch such as a buttonhole or satin stitch.
PINWHEEL SASHING
6. Place one Pinwheel A square on top on one Pinwheel B square, right sides
together.
7. Draw a line across the top square on one diagonal.
8. Sew 1⁄4" away on both sides of the drawn diagonal line.
9. Cut on the diagonal line. Open each half-square triangle and press.
Repeat to make 204 half-square triangles.
10. Sew four half-square triangles together as shown to make one Pinwheel
Block. Repeat to make 51 Pinwheel Blocks.
11. Following the quilt photo, sew the Pinwheel Blocks and the Sashing
Solid Blocks together to make sashing strips.

QUILT ASSEMBLY
12. Following the quilt photo, sew the sashing to the Heart and Flower Blocks to make
the quilt top.
13. Sew one 21⁄2" x 511⁄2" Inner Border to each side of the quilt top.
14. Sew one 21⁄2" x 431⁄2" Inner Border to the top and bottom of the quilt top.
15. Sew one 41⁄2" x 551⁄2" Outer Border to each side of the quilt top.
16. Sew one 41⁄2" x 511⁄2" Outer Border to the top and bottom of the quilt top.
17. Layer, quilt, and bind as desired.
